I still like Brock and was a big backer all this time and still hope he stops turning the ball over but man he has shown a lot of problems in his play last year and the start of this year.

Wait til we actually play a good offense.

Well FWIW the Rams are -3.5 right now. We gonna get smashed in LA.

I fear what Stafford Is gonna do to our defense

One thing is clear though, you can say bad stuff about brandon aiyuk but we forget, that's brock number 1 receiver and safety blanket.

Brock played bad. Very bad. I do wonder if the injury was an issue whether due to impacting his mechanics or simply creating a rust factor with so many moving pieces.

We are a timing based offense where many of our key guys are out or in and out of the lineup and practice field cuz of injuries.

On top of it we just had a massive team loss. Very few guys didn't have issues today and Brock being the QB is certainly at the top of the list.

My bigger concern will be how JJ and Pearsall feel going into the Rams game. Losing the turnover battle 4 to 0, giving up a special teams TD return and only losing by 5 is actually a miracle. Just shows how much we should've won that game.

Still it's an AFC team and we're still at the top of the division. The Rams game is MUCH more important. I sure hope we avoid playing such a sloppy game vs them but their defense isn't going to make things any easier for Brock. His decision making really has to be perfect against them.

When someone that has been very reliable in the past turns in a stinker like today, it asks us to look around for causes. When we do that we find injuries all over the place, beginning with Purdy. Two days of practice, with guys you have played with very much, is going to set things back. On the final two possessions, other than Robinson, none of the receivers start on a good team, some may not even make the roster. That matters.

Of course, that doesn't change the facts about Purdy's play. However, if we can come within a single drive of winning against a good Jaguars defense after all the mistakes, there is hope.

He did also have 2 ints in the 1st game. If that trend continues, we won't be very good.

Both of those ints in the first game occurred after he suffered his injuries. He has 0 interceptions pre-injury.

Lol. Look at his last 5 or 6 games. It is becoming a trend

He was injured for the 2nd half of last season.

What about the 5 int game against the Ravens a few seasons ago?

Football isn't forgiving game. It is violent. If you are active, you are healthy. Are you saying he is injury prone?

Brock is going to have to step up his play no matter who you are throwing too. The entire Jags defense knew he was looking for CMC all game long. Got to spread the ball around more so we can open up more of the offense. Jags looked like there were run blitzing on the way to the QB today all game

Of course the were looking for CMC. With Pearsall on a bum knee, CMC was the only legit pro receiver out there, unless you think Skyy Moore is a threat...or Bourne...Tonges is nice but not Kittle. There was just no one open most of the time. The Jags did a good job of throwing off the timing of routes.

We've been talking for two months about the lack of quality in the WR room, and it was glaringly apparent today.

That lack of WR has nothing to do with ball placement. This isn't the 1st time Brock had a bunch of high throws.

High throws is not a consistent problem, especially layering a ball in over the LBs. He has been very good at that. Now, when you have a bunch of guys who are not used to the precision and depth of those routes, it can cause problem.

I'm not going to make excuses, just point out factors that lead to high those.

One thing is that with a sore left toe, if it causes you to not plant that foot and come down hard on it, you are going to throw high. If the truth were known, I would not be surprised if that toe was bothering him. Remember, the original call was to miss 4-5 games.

TBF, he was still recovering from his UCL injury in that game against the Ravens.

Speaking of the Ravens, they're 1-3 and Lamar played like crap today, but you won't find any of their fans calling for their HC or DC to be fired or criticizing their QB.

Then don't play if it's the sore toe excuse. Start Matinez and heal up more for the Rams game.

I'm in the when he's holding the ball too long and not throwing it, expecting a bad play boat now.

Then he should sit and recover because he is hurting the team playing.
