QB Brock Purdy Thread

The players have a lot of respect for Brock. They all know how courageous it was for him to play at all in this game considering his toe injury.

That's the problem I had with Jimmy never took responsibility.
The search for a franchise QB continues
Brock played bad. Very bad. I do wonder if the injury was an issue whether due to impacting his mechanics or simply creating a rust factor with so many moving pieces.

We are a timing based offense where many of our key guys are out or in and out of the lineup and practice field cuz of injuries.

On top of it we just had a massive team loss. Very few guys didn't have issues today and Brock being the QB is certainly at the top of the list.

My bigger concern will be how JJ and Pearsall feel going into the Rams game. Losing the turnover battle 4 to 0, giving up a special teams TD return and only losing by 5 is actually a miracle. Just shows how much we should've won that game.

Still it's an AFC team and we're still at the top of the division. The Rams game is MUCH more important. I sure hope we avoid playing such a sloppy game vs them but their defense isn't going to make things any easier for Brock. His decision making really has to be perfect against them.
I hope he turns it around. This is beginning to look like the Mullins and Kaepernick descends.
He looked no different than in the Seattle game, I'm not going to give him any excuses. A couple more week like this and he deserves the bench!

That's what I'm afraid of. I think he has actually regressed with more responsibility in this offense. I think he played better when he first started playing as a rookie. Just run the play Kyle sends in and stop forcing it.

Maybe during a game just like when George did it to Steve in the Eagles game in 94. That might wake him up and he may realize all that cowboy crap ain't gonna work.
It seems as if Brock throws ducks or something. Something just seems off.
WE WANT MAC

Agree. You could see brock was late and indecisive for everything. And when he got the ball out it was a hospital ball. It was so bad. Should have stuck with the hot hand.
Brock is going to have to step up his play no matter who you are throwing too. The entire Jags defense knew he was looking for CMC all game long. Got to spread the ball around more so we can open up more of the offense. Jags looked like there were run blitzing on the way to the QB today all game

Every QB starts to decline when you start surrounding them with crappy players.

When someone that has been very reliable in the past turns in a stinker like today, it asks us to look around for causes. When we do that we find injuries all over the place, beginning with Purdy. Two days of practice, with guys you have played with very much, is going to set things back. On the final two possessions, other than Robinson, none of the receivers start on a good team, some may not even make the roster. That matters.

Of course, that doesn't change the facts about Purdy's play. However, if we can come within a single drive of winning against a good Jaguars defense after all the mistakes, there is hope.

You think Jones doesn't hold the ball?

He did in the 1st game at the beginning then he adjusted and was pretty good from there. Had the 1 bad int, but really didn't put the ball in harms way
