If he's cleared by the medical staff and can deal with the pain then let him play

You technically can trade that contract away to another team, especially now with all the QB needy teams.
If Brock's not atleast 85% healthy, dont play imo.

That and what are the aggravation risks. Some injuries there really aren't any, just a pain thing. I know nothing of turf toe!
If he plays this sunday it will be only because Shanahan wants to avoid a QB-controversy and that might backfire badly.

Just rest him and let Mac cook one more week.

He's not fully owed $265M though. He was fully owed about $100M at signing.

The first opportunity the 49ers would have to get out of paying much more is before April 1st of next year.

Point is after certain dates and escalators is when the numbers can get closer and closer to that $265M.

I'm sure they would be lining up for Brock and his contract

Yea I don't think Shanahan gives a hoot about QB controversy. He'd probably welcome it because that would mean we are doing pretty good

When people were defending Brock vs Mac's last week performance they are remembering the 2023 Brock Purdy and not the 2024 Brock Purdy.

I loved me some Mac Jones coming out of college obviously. I thought he played pretty well last week. However I don't think Mac has any shot of being as good as 2023 Brock. But I do think last week's performance was as good as 2024-2025 Brock.

In 2022 & 2023 Brock was running Kyle's offense as good as Matt Ryan's MVP season. He was taking what the defense was giving him and going to the right place damn near every play.

Last year in my opinion Brock was trying to shake the game manager moniker and wasn't running the actual offense. To me he was passing up the easier throws and was playing off script alot. 1st handful of games he appeared to me to purposely bypass Aiyuk to force it elsewhere. Almost like there was animosity towards him for the long holdout.

Brock needs to get back to the game manager he was in 2022-2023. To hell with the media and social media. It's the best version of him and this offense.

Everything you say is true but to be fair Jones wasn't throwing to Aiyuk, Deebo and Kittle. He didn't have the 2023 version of Trent Williams or CMC. There's no need to trya compare the 2. Brock is the starter again once he's healthy enough. Jones is an experienced backup. That's all.
