I know Brock didn't have the perfect game but this game was impressive by Brock. I say that because he had two int's and then Jake Moody missed two FG's and with all that he still found a way to get it done. Joe won a lot of games not so pretty. The other main thing is the defense glad to see Saleh back at the helm.

Purdy was doing fine initially. Losing Kittle, constant pressure and then clearly having a TD or no score mentality didn't help keep his thought process clear.
Still two horrible throws you can't make, even the Tonges TD could and maybe should have been a disaster.
This a 100% he's making throws he has no reason to make 2nd down in triple coverage? He literally cost us the season last year against the rams doing that
Yeah that Tonges throw easily could of been picked when we were in field goal range to tie, just throw it away. Would of been smarter to go for it on 4th than throw that

Yea, just a slopfest week 1 game. Glad to get a win.
Saw a little bit of every side of Purdy from the really good to the ugly. Clean it up… hopefully Kittle and Jennings aren't out an extended period of time.

Im happy we won but I am worried about Purdy. All his ints and the last TD throw were horrible decisions. It wasn't even good defense, just bad qb play.

The last drive was crazy. I thought Purdy actually did poorly but the results and stats were complete opposite.
The long throw to Pearsall did not have much juice and Woolen had great position and coverage for a pick but somehow just completely messed up. Then the first down throw to Tonges was not very accurate and Tonges made a great short catch. And the final throw was a horrible decision. If it's 4th down you can lob it up like that but not in that situation.
Crazy it all worked out as the luck usually doesn't seem to go that way for us. Purdy overall I think had an OK game but I thought he kind of got worse as the game went on. He started out on fire with his physical throws, mental reads, and scrambles.

Biggest thing that bugged me was the missed td to Pearsall. Gotta have those going forward.

Woolen needs a gift from us. Comically bad ball skills really helped us win that game.

Yea, that was just a bad throw. Needed to either put more juice on it or lead him a bit more.

Ultimately if you win where it's not pretty and there were setbacks that's actually good. But he was a little wild with the ball. Like throwing into quadruple coverage. I'd like to see him clean that up some.

This is what he has to get better at, it was a problem last season as well. But people forget how young he is. I think he is only going to get better overtime, there is a lot to like about Purdy. He made some really top level throws in this game. He was insanely accurate with the football. You just can't throw it to a blanketed receiver over the middle. The first one I think he didn't see the defender, and the second he tried to force it. But regardless you just can't have 2 bad INTs in game.

If we had a kicker Purdy wouldn't have needed to be that aggressive. He needs to learn from it and move on.

Yes I agree he was wild, but I'm hoping Kyle gets him in the film room and shows him his mistakes (of course by now Brock should know better). I think he's still trying to do too much like you do. I just wonder if he knew Moody was on shaky ground with his confidence and was trying to force things.
