Montana to TB12 is Helga to Arnold (from Hey Arnold).

In my mind Montana is still the GOAT. As much as Brady b****ed every time someone hit him too hard, makes me think he wouldn't have gone far in the 80's & early 90's. Brady has more rings but Montana was a warrior JMHO

Let's not turn this thread into another Brady vs Montana debate. I disagree with your thought process but I'd rather this stay a Purdy thread.

I just want to see Brock get back to what made him so good in 2023. Getting CMC back will definitely help and hopefully he won't feel the need to press now that he got paid. There may be a "prove your worth" situation happening but I think when he was able to review the season in retrospect he would realize playing hero ball actually doesn't show his real worth.

Seattle on the road should be a good first test for him. Both in McDonald's ability to make things difficult to read and with the injuries at WR. Hopefully Jennings is fully healthy and the chemistry Brock seems to have gained with Pearsall play out well despite the crowd noise in that stadium on the road.

Play within the scheme, protect the football and if plays break down make good decisions on risk vs reward.

No problem I'll stick to the subject I think Purdy will not take the chances he took last year as he stated a few times. I believe he will take check downs more and not hold the ball as much as he did. Naturally, barring injuries he has the players to score a lot of points this year and I'm looking forward to it. The team has to be better in the red zone. Turnovers and missed FG's & extra points probably cost the team 4-5 games last year. Can't wait for kickoff time and looking forward to a better defense also. Anyway……..Football is here and Go Niners

I'm sure you picked up on this, but it was a lame attempt at a joke. I was referring to the poster, Montana.

Yes lol. I just know how the Brady/Montana conversations get out of hand here(I know because I'm usually one making them get out of hand lol)

Really hoping we get good news on the CMC front. I think we can win without him but clearly he takes our offense to another level and without him out there we become a LOT easier to defend against.
Idk how some people knock Brock after watching these other guys play - Brock isn't perfect but he's a damn good qb.
"They faked the WR screen to Kelce. Kelce showed that he was blocking". Lmao dude hasnt blocked in 10+ years. That's hilarious

This looks like the chiefs will get a fg and then lose as the chiefs score a TD. Classic harbaugh va divisional rivals.

i hope the chargers win but i don't trust harbaugh/roman

Way to prove me wrong!! Love it. I'm not used to those ballsy plays when the game is on the line. Eff the chiefs

I had to scroll up to check what thread I opened lol.

Hope Brock plays as well as Herbert did last night. I do worry about McDonald's scheme having some wrinkles in there muddying up Brock's reads but hope we got some special sauce cooked up for them as well.

No injuries. No turnovers. Get the W. Don't care if it's ugly(may be early in the year) just win baby.

I would prefer it to happen here so he can make the adjustments during the game and so on.

Lmao I was wondering why I wasn't seeing others post. Figured that out.. eventually.

i actually feel good about Brock against this defense, he's played it numerous times and has had success. If you go back to the Baltimore game, that's the only time he really didn't do well and a lot of it was great defensive plays by the Baltimore guys and some lucky bounces. I'm not saying Brock didn't have a bad game, because he did, but I think he's simultaneously had success against the scheme.

my bigger worry are the WRs because outside of JJ, maybe Pearsall? But no one else does he have live game reps.

my hope is that Pearsall balls and that opens JJ, CMC, and Kittle. We need a WR to have a good day to put that stress on them. Hopefully we can have a healthy run game.

first games are always so weird cause you're unsure what to expect, especially this year with all the turnover and youth.
