I like it. Now, can we please get back to winning?

What's winning? 9-7? That's about what I see at best tbh

Good thing you're clueless

Eh I made a mistake meant 9-8 what you think we go 13-4? I don't think we'll be a dumpster fire but I don't see us being the sane juggernaut

I think 9-8 is a reasonable prediction.

Thats what I'm saying, its like if you're not a total optimistic SB homer than you're pessimistic clueless non believer see us as a 10-7 team if we stay healthy but that never happens. Think it'll be a repeat if last year where we just miss the playoffs because of injuries

It's amazing to me how much social media wants to see Purdy crash and burn.

Our society simply hates the idea of a feel good story.

#49ers Brock Purdy when down 1-8 points in 4th quarter or OT in regular season or playoffs:
41 for 72 for 502 yards, 3 TDs, 7 INTs, 52.9 passer rating

(Purdy ranks 151st out of 160 QBs with 50+ attempts in that scenario since 2000)

This is just so f**king stupid. Brock is great in most statistical categories but here you are finding that one sta he isn't good in. I bet Joe Montana, Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady were pretty bad in a couple stats too if you look hard enough.

Isn't that a pretty important stat? The QBS you named are all incredibly clutch when it matters..

It's important but it's also wildly out of context.

In general Kyle's offense struggles in come back situations when we're forced to throw. Brock hasn't had many situations meeting those qualifications in his starting career because for the most part he has us well ahead in games or it's close.

This year we had a lot more of that but the whole team struggled and we had injuries galore. When you have guys dropping passes, calls not going your way or OL struggling to block so Brock gets hit that will impact the numbers.

Also this doesn't track if Purdy marches us down the field but the TD is ran in by a RB.

During the 2023 season we had those situations happen just 3 times. 2 of the games we were missing Trent and Deebo. The 3rd game was Baltimore where we were in a huge hole but really only the first pick Brock threw was a bad throw. Not to mention he didn't finish that game and yet it's still counted.

I put a lot more on what Brock showed in the playoffs vs GB, Detroit and even KC than those numbers taken out of context.

It's an incredibly stupid stat. Most QBs lose when down 8+ in the fourth. Mahomes is the only outlier. I looked at Montana's career at one point last year and he wasn't above .500 in those games.

Why people are surprised that QBs down 8+ at the end of games often lose is hilarious to me. Like, duh, that's how the game is supposed to work most of the time.

I think 9-8 is a reasonable prediction.

11-6 is reasonable too. We saw the Eagles retool after a down year, no reason this team, still stocked with talent, can't reclaim their spot amongst the best.

I'm a bit more bullish on Purdy than you. This kid was vying for an MVP in his first full season so there's no reason why we shouldn't believe that he's capable of being a top 5 QB again.

I also am optimistic our defense can get back to being one of the better run stuffing defenses with its new stock of beef up front. It's a lot to ask a group of rookies to be impact players right away, but this is the time to be optimistic, when only potential guides our outlook.

Think it just makes sense given the vast majority of the guaranteed money is coming in the first three years of the deal.

3 guaranteed years is a sweet spot for a non-top QB

Uh-oh here comes the crying........

With our schedule? I'll be very disappointed if we're 9-8.

Not sure what you mean more bullish on Purdy than me? We have a solid line up but its our depth a long with our major injuries year in and year out that makes me feel un confident going into the season even if its an easy schedule

It's all good, Purdy will get us the Six and it will be the perfect underdog story, haters be damned
