Offseason success? Ummmm.....Brendel?
What's the cap hit breakdown by year? How much for this upcoming season? How much cap space will we have left?
How much cap space do we have now?

53 million aav seemingly right in the middle of the two sides initial asking price, at least as 'reported'.

Now we get to wait to see structure and let the cap nerds break it down, lol.

I'm guessing it's similar to hurts deal - relatively low cap hits the first 4 years and multiple bonus options. We will see!

Pelissero reported it's 160+ million in guarantees over the first 3 years of the deal. NY posted his tweet a few pages back.
Congratulations. Finally a feel good story. Pretty incredible to go from last pick to this.

so 5 yr extension or 6 yrs total. Making Goff money. Good deal for both sides

Very fair. What does his first year look like as it relates to the cap hit?

Well there is a difference between guaranteed money that the player gets immediately and the salary cap hit.

$160M could be guaranted in the signing bonus and spread out over the 6 years.

Could have multiple bonus options in the first couple years that gives him the money immediately and we spread it out.
lots of ways that could be done and have a small salary cap hit for the next few years (small relative to $53M average).

I may be wrong on what the structure is but my guess is low cap hits first couple year with multiple option bonuses and a fat signing bonus.
Very happy we've got it done, the price is the price definitely market value anything under Dak's was always going to be a win. I'd have done at least 6 years, but I get it. Now there's no distractions at Training camp for the first time in forever. Love that.

Edit 5 year extension so is 6 years. Love that too.

Yup. I have no idea. I'm sure we'll find out shortly.

So Purdy $53 mil/yr is paid more per year than Mahomes $45 mil, Stafford, $44 mil, Justin Herbert $52.5 mil, Lamar Jackson $52 mil

all of these guys are better than Purdy

And they're all paid less than Trevor Lawrence and Dak Prescott.
Now that Purdy received his new contract, should we expect the usual down year that follows? Or do you guys believe he will buck the trend? I sure hope he does. We cannot afford a down year with the schedule we've been gifted.

Dak numbers just wasn't going to happen. Dude had insane leverage over the Cowboys because he had a no-tag clause.

I agree that below Tua is a win, though
