QB Brock Purdy Thread

The problem with the Aiyuk, Deebo, and Bosa deals is we gave them everything they wanted. For Bosa, I was fine with it. The others I was not. The Purdy deal needs to be a true compromise. If both sides walk away a little unhappy, then it's the right deal.

I'd give him 30mil per, take it or leave it

Aiyuk was 100% a #1 at X. The injury is a major curve ball but before that he was everything you can want as a WR imo.

I know your trying to convince me, but it's mute at this point. Let's just hope he comes back close to what he used to be. Also, I never thought he had the top end speed to be a #1, in my eyes.

Brock has no leverage here because he is still under contract this year. His only option would be to hold out but I just don't see him doing that.

He is either going to get 5 million under contract this year or 45 million on an extension.

He really has no other options.

Piss my boy off enough he might just say, I'm out of Dodge.

That's exactly my point. He can't literally leave since he is under contract no matter how upset he is.

All really he can do is sit on the bench. In other words, he HAS to STAY.

Sit out is all he can do. He's playing nice now, let's hope his representation doesn't get in his ear if things get dragged out.

I will say this that would be a s**tty way to do Brock, after playing on the cheapest salary in the NFL and helping in getting this team to the Superbowl. Real s**tty. The FO ponies up and pays the other players but then its Brocks turn and they decide to start a new plan (if that happens) real classy. If that happens if I were Brock I would just sit out the whole year be damned live off the sponorship money.

I think it's legit that he doesn't want to cause a ruckus, and the team really believes in him.

I hear you, bud49. It's about respect.

The starting QB holding in/out is not something you want to see as a team, especially a team going through a transition period on offense and trying to rebound from a rough season.

The 49ers taking a tough stand with the QB would be really stupid and I don't see them making that mistake. Just like I don't see Brock being the type of guy to sit in/out because he knows it hurts the team.

I don't either. Just something to talk about in these slow times until FA and the draft.

A holdout would not happen because Brock obviously would not let that happen.

Remember, after the second Rams game last year, Brock stated that he had failed this team. That is not someone who would take issue with being paid 45 million this year when technically the team only owes him 5 million under contract.

If someone in the family or someone in his representation gets in his ear, is the only way I see him potentially, playing hard ball with negotiations.
