New season starts March 12th I believe. I wouldn't expect something to get done before TC. Whatever contract he gets, all I know is that we want him in camp by that time and no hold out bs. These hold outs have been hurting us recently, and last thing we need is a QB hold out. We can't afford Brock missing all of season (and neither can he financially unless he wants a roommate again lol)

Should already be signed. Not sure what the issue is.

Because new season doesn't start till March 12th and we're waiting for NFL to give us the new Salary Cap. There's no hurry right now.

I definitely expect it to get done long before TC and if we wait until then it's a big mistake imo. We gotta stop prolonging slam dunk deals.
Get ahead of the Stafford deal too and stick it to the Rams for a change.

Because you can't have a true 49ers offseason without a holdout deep into a training camp. It has become an annual tradition in these parts.

Are you ok with not meeting that, but still make him the highest paid and get the most GTD for a QB ever ? (This happened in your Balt/LJ example)
You are absolutely wrong lol. I'm not gonna back and forth if you're gonna continue to straw man s**t.
Again, If Brock wanted 65/70m avg and FGTD money. Are you ok with not meeting that, but still make him the highest paid and get the most GTD for a QB ever ? (This happened in your Balt/LJ example)

Balt not paying him FGTD is not the win to this discussion, Balt still made him the highest paid and most GTD for a QB
You wouldn't be ok with making the Brock the highest paid with the most GTD if we still didn't meet the demands like LJ
Maybe you didn't understand that, again that's not my problem. He wanted a certain amount of money and Baltimore didn't want to give him that SO they let the market dictate it. You can strawman that as much as you want…doesn't change anything.
If teams said yes please let me pay Brock more than any football player ever. Then you're at crossroads and you either pay him that or discuss trade compensation. It's not different than what LA is doing with Stafford. Which is the whole damn point and why I brought it up (because you said it NEVER happens).
FWIW it's okay to be wrong about something. I'm as stubborn as anyone in here but I've at least admitted I was wrong at one point…I don't think you've ever done that.
Really?!
Those Trey Lance takes are still some of the worst I've seen on this forum.
And somehow still better than all your troll posts. Pretty incredible
Nah

Just seen Cohn's nonsense about the Niners trading Purdy for Stafford. And him saying Stafford is a significantly better qb than Purdy. What utter garbage he talks.

Well his point was the whole "aging veterans" vs. "youthful roster" thing. Basically, what Stafford's last trade for another QB came down to,...and how it benefitted the Rams already (SB win). It wasn't a "hey let's get rid of this bum" type article. The overall question is how desperate are we to win right now?
"But would Stafford make the 49ers Super Bowl favorites? No, he wouldn't. And that's a big reason not to trade for Stafford." --Cohn

You can still extend a player right now. We did it with Jimmy in 2018 like four days after the Super Bowl that year.

Do you want to know how you can tell someone isn't very smart and shouldn't be considered a "football writer" when they make this take?
It's not because Purdy has been objectively better than Stafford (though he has been).
It's not because Purdy is 12 years younger than Stafford (though he is).
It's because there is no way, in any universe, on any planet, that EITHER team is agreeing to ANY kind of trade like this with a division rival. None.
Anybody with an ounce of football expertise and knowledge (not Cohn) knows this.
