QB Brock Purdy Thread

Brock Purdy elevates his team and is good enough to win a Superbowl.
He'll get paid something like Hebert, Love or Hurts and the team will structure it to be friendly enough to keep a strong team around him.

Yah where's all the "Mahomes elevates his team" talk!!!

And I'm not just talking about this board, I'm talking about every radio station, every tv show, NFLN and ESPN. Such b******t!!!

I mean.....he absolutely elevates his team. Their OL is nothing to write home about. Their running game is average at best. Their WR corps is among the worst in the NFL. Kelce is declining bad.

They won 15 games.

Aside from our game against them, did you watch them in the regular season at all this year? They were probably the luckiest, most over-achieving 15-game winner in NFL history.

Mahomes did not win 15 games. Chris Jones, Butker, and their opponents being consistently stupid won them 15 games. Mahomes didn't even have a Pro Bowl year.

People consistently overlooking his top 10 defense the past two seasons.

The Chris Jones disrespect is just hilarious at this point. Mahomes has zero rings and we're debating if he's even better than Marino without him.

I agree that the contract will be somewhat team fiendly. Brock hasn't played long enough to show he is worth the top salary in the league. He's already had one serious injury. One really good season and one average season doesn't make him elite.

This team is usually pretty good at doing contracts that don't tie up too much money for several years.

Brock Purdy wanting to get his deal done fast without drama tells me he's not aiming for top salary.

I mean I'm certainly hoping they get it done quickly, but THIS quickly would be unprecedented lol. Jimmy G's was done the Thursday after the Super Bowl but there was no current contract left for beyond that month so even more of a rush to get it done.

They wanted it done before the draft. If they weren't able to make a deal then QB would have been a priority in the draft. Brock is a Niner this year no matter what happens.

the entire offseason tends to grind along at a snails pace.

I get it. "Herp derp good teams WIN they find ways to WIN!! THEY'RE SO AMAZING!!" I could understand that argument… if they had won maybe 2-3 games on literally the last play and won most other games by 8-10 points. They won EIGHT games on literally the last play this year—And it always took their opponent being a total moron at the end to do it. The Raiders literally fumbled a basic snap ffs. How does that make Mahomes so great?

I did. I watched Mahomes have 7 game winning drives. I watched him have 5 fourth quarter comebacks. I watched him literally play his best ball all season when it mattered.

i push back on the luck take. they have a first ballot HOF QB, and HOF HC, and perhaps HOF DC, with a DPOY type DT, and a host of young talent. so i see a lot of competitive advantage (that may give the appearance of luck). you give any NFL city a HOF HC and HOF QB and they will probably get very lucky real fast. i feel in SF we do more to fulfill the coach side of the equation than the QB side.
