"I'm about to end this s**t right here" is what Purdy was thinking.

Man, this kid gives you heart attacks, but it's nail biting fun

It was a great game to watch. It was a rollercoaster ride but I had faith the offence would pull it off all the way through, though I did get a bit wobbly when Gould missed the field goal with 2 seconds left. I said the F word.

Accurate description of Brock today

My question, though, is why throw into a 1 on 1 situation when he could lead Kittle toward open space with a deeper ball? It even looked like Kittle flattened out as he was tracking the ball. I don't think Purdy ever saw the defensive back.

We don't know if purdy wanted to throw it there exactly , or if kittle was supposed to be there exactly. We do know. The typical result of that play. Kittle high pointing it. tucking it away. lifting the db to toss him into blue tent then going to find the teammate to give him violence.
You can tell Kyle really respects what Brock is doing. His demeanor seems different. too.
Played great again
Media kept saying playing from behind is good for Brock, but he's been doing that for 4 years in college

From the broadcast angle, I can't tell if Purdy even had line of sight on #21, but it looks to me like he didn't account for him at all with his placement of the throw. If he saw #21, I would have expected Purdy to either get the ball there sooner (which Sanchez noted in the broadcast) or lead him up the hashes. Regardless, he definitely threw into coverage and paid the price on that one.

I think so too

Same play with jimmy g vs packers last year just didn't see the backside defender
I thought it was a good primer game for Purdy for the playoffs.

on the road, loud stadium, down by 10 points, lots of blitzing thrown at him, some mistakes that he shook off…… He still got us within FG range for the win in regulation.
Great confidence builder and experience for the rookie…. This kids the real deal!
Brock Purdy - Record 5-0 Average points for team per game 32.6
Jimmy G - Record 7-3 Average points for team per game 23.9
Trey Lance - Record 0-1 Average points for team per game 10

I get this stat is a team stat. But I find it interesting. Hard not to be impressed with what Purdy has done given he is a rookie.

the ball should have been thrown sooner.. he waited and locked on a lot today
Just remember even on the last drives of the game he was never truly in danger.

We never even went to 4th down.

He had to engineer a drive to win and he did it easily.

I think he figured out the difference between college DB closing speed and NFL DB closing speed there.

I think the defender made a nice play and neither Purdy or Kittle saw him

All I know is this game would've been a big L with Jimmy at the helm. 100%

You don't "know" anything of the kind. Just another opinion based on your biases. It never ceases to amaze me how people on her keep confusing the opinions with facts.

All I know is Jimmy would've taken a sack, or gotten injured on all those blitzes that Brock managed to evade.

How do you know they would have sent all of those blitzes if Jimmy had been the QB? Maybe the blitzes were put in specifically for Purdy to see if they could rattle him. Maybe they would have taken a different approach with Jimmy. Maybe Kyle would have called a different game with Jimmy. Maybe he calls a different play then the one Banks got hurt on and Banks finishes the game and later on makes a key block that springs a runner for a long TD. Another mistake that people often make in here is they assume that, if you replace the most influential offensive player on the field, i.e. the QB, not specifically Jimmy, the game would play out exactly the same way. That's not the way those things work.

I know because it actually happened to Jimmy in the Miami game. LOL

GOT EM!

Oh, gosh sorry. I didn't realize that Miami and Las Vegas were the same teams with the same coaching staffs and the same players. My mistake

Lol lighten up

He was just late then forced it imo.
Purdy has so much better pocket awareness an mobility. He runs away from so many sacks that JG10 would take.

I don't get why JG10 is such a statue, he's not old he can move.
