Exactly! From what I'm seeing we struck gold with Brock! I'm lovin it!

Jalen Hurts who had over 1,000 passing attempts in college…his first season playing in Philly? 148 passing attempts…competed 52% of his passes for 6TDs and 4INTs. This forum would have ate him alive, now he's in the discussion for MVP. I'm not saying he's the next Hurts…but or f**k sake give him the chance to at least fail.

ehhh. that's a poor example. the 2020 Eagles were 4-9-1 when he took over and had NO wide receivers. Travis Fulgham and Greg Ward were their leading wide outs. Pederson knew how talented Hurts was.

Hahaha looking at one of the comments,

I love Jalen Hurts as a person and team leader but I'm sorry, he is not a long term solution for the Eagles or any other NFL team as a starting QB.

Btw, I drafted Hurts for the Colts in the 1st round. They should have listened to me.

Yeah and the 2020 49ers were 6-10 if we're gonna play that game. Clearly Shanahan knows how talented Lance is or he wouldn't have made the biggest trade in SF history to get him on our team.

what game? the only game here is that you changed the point of your original post. you left out the important context in your original comment. context you constantly use (the talent surrounding the QB) whenever someone says Purdy is playing at a high level. lol.

We really need to stop thinking about Purdy as a rookie in the same sense as most rookies come into the league. He has FAR more experience than any other rookie in recent memory...and it shows in his play.

Another point that has been blown up is the idea he has an average or slightly below-average arm. Tom Gormely of the Quarterback Collective has stated that after working with them, his speed improved to 55-56 MPH while the average NFL QB throws it at 54-55 MPH. So there is that.

Adding that he flung the ball 45 yards to Kittle in the EZ this past weekend with no issues. That'll get the job done.

Absolutely! Love it!

Yep. So he won't be slinging it 60 + yards on the run, or across the field, like a Herbert, Allen, or Mahomes. As nice as it is to have that ability, it's a luxury not a necessity. If you have the required baseline level of arm strength, throwing with accuracy, making good decisions, and generally executing the offense with high efficiency, is a necessity... and he's showing very well in those areas.

It isn't Lance hate as much as it is the reality that Brock Purdy is clearly the best QB option right now.

Between him and Johnson? Well yea. Not sure what that has to do with Lance tho

dj43 clearly meant Purdy >>> healthy Lance

Lance isint healthy tho. It's Purdy by default.

The best option 9 months from now is an unknown to everyone here.

Our best receivers in 2020 were kendrick Bourne and a rookie.

don't talk to me about being hypocritical lol. Tossing out "luck" as data then poo pooing turn over worthy plays and PFF related data.

Jalen hurts last yr completed 60% of his passes, 16 passing TDs and 9 INTs. Wow those are some MVP numbers crazy players can actually get better at playing football…but according to some, players can't improve from college to the pros. Playing more football can't possibly help you get better at playing football.

The more I've seen of him the more I do see that Drew Brees arm. Nothing amazing, but definitely good enough to make most throws. He will never be Pat or Allen, where he can throw a tight rope 50 yards off his back foot lol, but he's definitely got the goods man
Apparently Brock can't get any better than he did this past week…developing and actually playing football won't help him get better. Sucks I was really hoping to see where he could take his game.

I think when people are talking about arm strength it's about velocity…it's about those 15 yard out routes or throwing the ball on a rope when you don't have a clean pocket and can step into it. All these dudes can throw a ball 40+ yards downfield, they're NFL QBs. I will say Brock has improved his arm strength since college…it's never gonna be a strength imo. Accuracy, anticipation and playing well under pressure will be (if he continues to show those traits)

I'm not knocking Lance, this is directed at what you're saying. Talent doesn't matter if you don't have other tools. Talent is the easiest damn thing to see when scouting players. Lol

Essentially EVERY player that gets drafted is talented, specifically first round. There are so many variables in getting a player to ascend to that level and that is the real challenge.

you can be talented at something and never reach its potential for countless reasons, it could be something as simple as it isn't something you're passionate about.
What's absolutely insane about Purdy so far is I can't think of anything he doesn't do well to where we say "he needs to improve on X" - it's remarkable.

he just needs more reps and experience so he just responds faster pre and post snap. It's looked like the only way to stop him is to just simply out play our offense on the snaps (which is hard to do). So far teams haven't been able to trap him with a defense scheme or anytbing.

Commanders did a great job in the first half because they kept the ball out of our hands and were getting great pressure.

So if you were Shanahan and Lance was cleared to play right now would you start him? Pretty sure that's the question.

I sure as hell wouldn't.
