All these guys that still doubt Purdy think he will fold under pressure. They think he can't come from behind. They think he can't throw deep. I guess it's not as easy as they seem to think because he still puts up good numbers including passer rating under pressure and average length of completion.

I can see why people get all up in arms with that quote, but it's worth noting that Ronnie Lott would say the same thing.....'sometimes you gotta take a 15 yarder and let your opponent know you mean business'...or something along those lines.

If Chmura simply means to rattle Purdy...to intimidate him with one late shot...I got no problem with his statement. If the intent is to injure - Greg Williams style - well that is another thing entirely.
