They had that nose tackle, big Gilbert Brown that just shut down runs up the middle. I hated that guy because running right at him, we'd always (or so it seemed) never gain any yards or we lost yardage. Young always had to pass on 3rd and 10+ when those things happened.

The fan vote is kind of funny. We have the top vote getter for 13/20 positions.

Our fans are so ridiculously active.

Brendal is the #1 center.
McKivitz is the #4 OT
Burford is the #7 OG

NC in shambles

I"m happy for the OLine! Probowl is a popularity contest but I'll take it. Shows that this OLine is definitely making progress. Just needs that one guy and some depth and it will be as good as some of the Legendary NFL OLines of the past.

I don't think so, specially with the OLine upgrades that Kyle did in the offseason - even though - Kyle didn't draft any OLinemen. Yet he still comes back with the same irrelevant point that I already disagreed with. Oh well.

I never said that. Specifically told you otherwise. I 100 percent think he's worth signing longterm. I'd sign him tomorrow if we had to. I'm presenting the idea that having more time to evaluate for unseen contingencies is good… and you missed the point over and over again.
I will *REPEAT* -- I disagreed that *I* didn't need any more time to evaluate Purdy. Maybe Random needs more time as he doesn't watch the game but I don't need more time. FYI I won't respond to your pointless point anymore.

I agree with Random's point here about it being a good thing that we have additional time to evaluate Purdy.

While I think Purdy is the longterm answer currently it doesn't offend me if another poster doesn't. I've bumped heads with him on other topics but I think he prioritizes what he thinks is best for the team, as I do.

Agree to disagree. For me, I've seen Joe and Steve play. I've seen Jeff and Tim Rattay play, Jeff Kemp, Elvis Gerbac etc... I know what I see, and what I see in Purdy is a generational player. I think Kyle sees that too, considering Kyle's extensive experience first hand with some great QB's. He saw a good player in Jimmy - just from that 5-0 start - and got a Superbowl and three NFC Championship games out of Jimmy. I'm sure he sees something special in Purdy. That's why he traded Trey away.

Geidi, do you see in the post you just linked of mine how you misrepresented what I said? It's directly beneath the part you bolded in this reply. I underlined and starred it for you. Do you understand that you repeatedly responded to me to tell me that you disagreed with my evaluation of Purdy, even though I indicated to you multiple times we don't disagree (at least generally) and that it was beside the point of the conversation anyway? The point of the conversation was not how you, Random, or I currently evaluate Purdy! You stated that I think Purdy won't be as good in two years which was blatantly false (I think he will be better just like you do) and you said I think he will shred his knee when I merely presented it as a possibility.

We do not need to keep going back and forth on this issue as there is a clear disconnect in what the conversation was initially about (which I tried to tell you right from the start), but it would be good if you could acknowledge the words that were actually written.

Read your statement *again.* You agreed that Purdy needs more evaluation time. How pointless is that? That's like saying Water is wet and the sky is blue. Again, I said *I* don't need more evaluation time. I AGREEed to disagree on that. Now - your other pointless point - think about it. *IF* Purdy is the LONG term answer then the game plan should be to prepare the 49ers cap for Purdy's contract *impact* on the cap ahead of time in two years. Common sense to me.

No I didn't agree that he needs more evaluation time. It's not a matter of agreement, as he can't be extended for another year and he will be evaluated during that year. I stated this to you multiple times. Beyond that I specifically said to you I would sign him right now if we had to. Word for word.

I also agreed we would prepare to sign him now and tried to advance the conversation as it was completely beside the original point. I said we could prepare to sign him now (again in agreement with you) and if something happened next year (like poor play, major injury, legal trouble, whatever other possibility) we would have flexibility to pivot from that decision when it became time to actually sign him.

How about just acknowledging that you made up the idea that I thought he would be worse in two years and that you didn't understand I posited a possibility that he could be injured, not that he would be injured as a matter of fact?

Thank for you for not acknowledging that you completely made up things I said otherwise. Ridiculous.

The hard part is that teams never stay the same without luck or humbleness.

as soon as we get that one guy, we will need to replace Williams. If we win Superbowl this year he may retire. That's a huge loss so the team is always evolving. Just need to trust ShanaLynch to get the right people and Brock will have a great caree.

i say humbleness bc Tom Brady knew he could take less for better players around him. Will Brock? Sill others? We shall wait and see.

It's mighty cool of Deebo to wear the Purdy jersey.

Fingers crossed, let's hope for the best in Jan/Feb.
