I say, I hope they pay the man, he should get every cent he deserves.

He should take every penny he could get… though I hope he doesn't because he's kind, low profile, loves Jesus and all that jazz.

He loves Jesus, but his agent doesn't

Imo, he's giving us the sweetheart deal now, it's the contract of a century. We gotta capitalize.

His agent is an advisor… he's not the boss. No agent likes team friendly deals and yet they happen. No player with a competent agent isn't fully aware they are giving a discount when it happens.

Agree otherwise though.

Too simple for Zoners to handle lol

Is this the Trey-will probably never play much in the NFL ever again-Lance thread? Or is it..the Brock- noone comes close to his c-k size-Purdy thread? Lol

Lance is a closed book guys and so is his career probably. Brock is just better, deal with it lol. He came in and destroyed competition. I think it's pretty fking awesome.

lol I really don't understand the point in making bold claims like this? I'm sure you said Love blows and his career was over all the same.

Brock is real good, doesn't mean Lance's career is over and he can't play QB in the NFL. Not sure why people still hate on the kid? Super young, legit talent and tons of injuries.

Lol not sure if the Love comment was directed at me but I do not believe I have ever made a comment about Love, neither positive or negative.

I do not hate on Lance at all. I want the dude to succeed. But the truth is, that window seems likely closed. The NFL moves fast, he is a 3rd stringer now, what team is gunna pick this dude up and give him a chance if the 49ers got rid of him like he had the plague? Lol I am exaggerating, slightly, haha. My thought..he will just disappear into the abyss like so many other qbs before him. I could be wrong but..it does not look good.

But anyway..back to Brock and his awesomeness...

I feel bad for Lance, too esp. after this season there'll be new and better rookie QB's going to get drafted. It's the NFL.

This... this is disturbing.

I heard this argument referenced before, lol. Didn't see it when it happened. Would have been fun.

The fun starts here: https://www.49erswebzone.com/forum/nfl/189603-qb-jimmy-garoppolo-lvr/page7028/#post105414

If you're willing to read for a few hundred pages (that covers the rest of the week), you're in for a treat. Mind you, this is after the Niners went in to Green Bay and beat the Packers in a thrilling come from behind win in the playoffs to get to the NFCCG.

I'm with all you guys in a perfect world it would be a team friendly contract, but I don't think somebody should just take a lower contract to be nice or to help out the team.

If he wins the Super Bowl forget about it it's going to be a close to Max contract.

I could be completely wrong, but I seem to remember that Brady took creative contract so that the team could get additional talent.

Not getting an MVP may knock off a couple Million. Well, unless he wins it next year.

As a Christian too, I would still want to get absolutely paid my full worth, but I would be glad to find a fair structure to the deal that would allow me to still get paid my fair market value while also giving the team flexibility to maintain a strong roster.

I don't feel bad for him. He choose to join the pros without enough experience. He made enough money to make it rain daily.

He is the complete opposite of a checkdown king.

He's leading the NFL in yards per attempt, air yards per attempt and deep passing (over 20 yards). He's middle of the pack for percentage of yards from YAC. The check down narrative is absurd at this point.

What some don't seem to understand is that a "lesser contract" or "team friendly contract" doesn't mean he signs for $20M a year. Lol

there are a ton of ways he can structure his contract to make it great for him and the team. Signing a huge contract doesn't mean you're getting all of it - would you rather signs 5 year 500M with $200M guaranteed or a 5 year $400M with $300M guaranteed?

i personally think the market will be around $70M a year for a top tier QB when he is able to resign and I hope he signs for like $58M-$60M and gets nearly his entire contract guaranteed. Does a triple bonus structure.

some of these guys on here think taking a team friendly deal means he takes half of what he can get or something ridiculous like that.

there WILL be cap casualties eventually. He will eventually have to carry more of the load. We eventually will be in a situation like KC & Buffalo where our weapons are super inexperienced or average cause we can't pay top of the market to all the positions, like we are now.

we have the highest paid (or near) FB, RB, TE, WR, LT, DE, MLB, DT (twice). Only way to sustain anywhere near that is if Brock doesn't eat up an insane part of the salary cap. So hoping he doesn't do it isn't dumb? It's moronic to hope he does. Lol

here is a scenario - we pay Brock this off season (hypothetically). Guess what, our new number two is jennings or Ronnie bell. Imagine a player like Ronnie bell being depended on at this stage in his career. Jennings is an awesome third option, not first or second. These are the kind of scenarios we will start running into at multiple positions as we try to find ways to fill them on the cheap side. Since it's all we will be able to actually pay. We just have to hope we keep drafting all stars all the time. Which would be great but risky af.

Sure but in defense of Random, can we stop using the hater label when someone has a different opinion than yours?

Please and thanks.

WB stands for Wilks Biggest (hater)

on a BP note, I one time referred to a BP game as ok / good, it was the game he got called out by coach for his decision making, and I got the hater label.
With TL I gave my honest thoughts, that his game sucked, and I got the hater label there also, so it happens,

Did you forget you called me a Jimmy hater on multiple occasions? I mean… of course you did. You always do.
