Have we thrown a back shoulder since Jennings v Giants?

I concur to this. The first 5 games, all wins, the 49ers were dominant in the run game. Really strong.

Game 1 - 188 team yards rushing
Game 2 - 159 team yards rushing
Game 3 - 141 team yards rushing
Game 4 - 124 team yards rushing
Game 5 - 170 team yards rushing

Game 6 - 108 team yards rushing / respectable but less than their previous average
Of 157

Game 7 - 65 team yards rushing / almost 100 team yards below average

Game 8 - 113 team yards rushing/ respectable but well below the team average. I believe Trent being back in the lineup could help get the running game back. Problem is the depth.

BP will be fine. He has the skills to succeed here, hope Kyle has a better game plan for week 10. He has to get this offense clicking again and keep defenses guessing. The first 5 games were so amazing. It seems like he needs to elevate his play calling and get the players in position to succeed. That and BP needs to forget what happened in the 3 losses and bounce back.

Gonna be a tough game v the Jags. ETN is a beast and Lawrence is looking better. The 49ers don't have that "unbeatable" stigma anymore. It is GONE. Opponents now know the 49ers can be beat and that confidence goes a LONG way.

The only reason 113 team rushing yards in week 8 seems respectable is because Purdy had, what, 60 rushing yards?

Our running backs averaged 3.3 yards per carry. That did not and will not get the job done.

Totally. I didn't take that into account but the moral of the story is that the team needs to get the run game back in track. Forcing the Niners to be one dimensional has proven costly.

Kyle needs to get back on top of his game. I think ue took his opponent lightly in week 6 v Cleveland. No Watson for CLE so maybe he thought it would be a Cakewalk. That L gave out next two opponents confidence and hope. Confidence goes a long way in this league.

Understandable for the bolded that said the depth on the oline is bad and that should have been addressed in the off season. Depth and Wilks might spell doom for 2023. Ruat said still confident. Let's turn this around

And Brock had half of those "rushing yards."

That, plus the game 6 total was down because TW was playing on one leg. To make matters worse, McKivitz has been a disappointment in run blocking all season.

A fully healthy Trent impacts every area of the offense. If Banks misses time after the bye, and TW can't go, the offense will have big trouble.

Starters AND depth needs improvement. Add more talent to the starting positions and the former starters become quality depth. Not that hard to do after 7 years.
Question. Josh Allen seems to get excused for having bad stretches. As does Mahomes but Mahomes has proven himself as a multiple SB winner and MVP future HoF. But what exactly has Josh proved? He loses in the playoffs and makes a ton of mistakes. Don't get me wrong I think he's really good, but for sake of argument he gets so much leeway vs Brock and it is all due to draft position bias and our love affair with big strong armed QBs. If it was Trey that had done all that Brock had done thus far, I think the convo would be different, simply because he was highly drafted. Look at Lawrence, he has achieved just about as much as Brock has in the league thus far.

Its an uphill battle for the underdog.

Im not sure how anyone can see Mckivits as a disappointment. He's playing exactly to his draft status or more. We just didn't put an emphasis on the OL outside of Trent and Banks.

Our center is probably our best healthy lineman but I've never thought he's worth a long term deal. Playing well so far but he's rough sometimes.

I know. I said "team rushing yards". I like many others see the ship as headed in the right direction. Brock isn't Superman but he played like it during the win streak.

Need the running game back and the team still has a shot this year. "A chip and a chair" if you know what I mean. BP shouldn't be asked to do it all. Lighten the load, run better plays and get the other RB's on the team involved. We got this!
