Need the run game to improve. That's where the offense is stammering, and once it gets going, Brock will be just fine.

agreed the run game needs to get going

As Trent goes, so goes the team.

we need him back pronto

I probably shouldn't admit this but I remember Montana being brought along slowly by Bill Walsh his first year. Steve DeBerg was the starter but on several occasions, Walsh used Montana to run option plays with him keeping the ball. IIRC, he scored on one such play. At one point in that first year, Steve DeBerg developed laryngitis so bad he couldn't call signals. Montana came in for a game or two, and he made rookie mistakes. Hence, a microphone was mounted in Steve's helmet and a speaker in his chest plate so teammates could hear him. In the end, despite Joe's mistakes, his clear upside was greater than DeBerg's and the rest is history.

FTR, Montana was a third round pick because he was a little too short for the prototype and he lacked a cannon arm.

Sound familiar?

he also had the Cotton Bowl

That was what convinced Walsh to take a chance on him.

Of course. I'm just saying that in the 4 games Purdy has been behind/tied late, he's 2-2 at setting the team up to win. That's far too small of a sample size to say anything either way.

how do you get 2-2?

browns and raiders game he got us in FG range

hard to call an L a W
i think 1-2-1 is more representative maybe

youre missing the point. reread what captveg wrote

he said 'he's 2-2 at setting the team up to win'
I don't agree, in my view setting em up to win, means you win

i was willing to compromise with 1-2-1

Only by redefining what words literally mean. Why should I compromise when I'm correct in how I understand the English language?

It's pretty absurd to blame Brock for Moody's miss. He certainly played poorly most of the game, but against the Browns he did enough to win the game.

He and the offense definitely set the team up to win the game at least, lol.

Clutch situation. Good result in that situation. Kicker bricked it.

Obviously you'd like to see better performance for the rest of the game.

When so many players are saying Trent should be an MVP candidate, it's pretty obvious why now. He's just a different type of player when it comes to the OL. Especially on running plays, he's so God damn dependable on those

That game isn't what concerns me. That game, plus the disaster at the Vikings, then the disaster vs the Bengals. You can say the INTs against Minnesota might have been concussion related. I doubt that applies to the Bengals, which then makes me question if the Vikings picks were concussion related. If he plays like trash again, that's not just a fluke. That calls into question whether the previous play was what was the fluke.

I'm not fully ready to leave the Brock bandwagon, but if it becomes four straight games where he makes crucial, game losing mistakes, I'm putting a whole foot on the Darnold bandwagon.

Exactly. Brock played well but man the timing of that first Interception. Has to do what he had been doing. Don't turn the ball over.

no argument from me there

12 TDs to 5 INT'S not to bad but Brock Purdy just needs to be playing mistake free and we'll be okay. Kyle Shanahan needs to rotate RB's giving CMC breathers the RB rotation is what got us to the Superbowl in 2019.
He is doing better than Mahomes so far. According to the stats.

We all know it's all about the stats nowadays not W's and L's.

Everybody complains about the game manager until we don't have him anymore
