this line gonna get him hurt for sure...there was a couple of plays that a lineman just got blown up instantly like that.

Pretty crazy Purdy was able to put up 370ish yards getting hammered the way he was.

I mean 70 yards was on that last drive, which was straight trash time vs a prevent D. Overall I don't think the OL was horrible pass blocking. That was just the live view. He got hit sure. So does every QB (unless you're playing against SF).

I disagree with the he shouldn't have played or using a concussion to make an excuse for the mistakes. He passed all the protocols. It's an independent neurologist that clears him. There's been multiple players that came back in a week just this yr.

everyone on this team has to play better, including our QB

ok drop 70 off it

So 295 yards passing, 50 yards on the ground.... for a dude who got hit 8 times and sacked twice when he was not running for his life....he had one of the more difficult 300 yard games.

There is a correlation between protecting your QB and 300 yard games....that was my point.

I gotcha ya. Overall doesn't matter if you're tossing INTs in the red zone or when you need to make a play.

The bigger issue on the OL imo is the lack of being able to run the ball then pass-pro.

When you throw an INT is more important than how many you throw. The first one was a great play by the Bengals defender but Brock said he should have handed off. He knew there was a lineman downfield and even if completed the play would have been called back. The second throw was just a bad read. One cost the Niners a probable TD and the other set the Bengals upfor an easy score. He made a couple of plays where he threw back across his body but those are dangerous. He can't keep doing those.

Brock has thrown some amazing throws and completions. Despite what the heck is going on I still feel like he can march it down the field and win it any given Sunday. What does he have, three more games and it's officially one full football year of play? It hasn't even been one full football year yet in play. I look at the over all package and not only is he the one but he will be the one for years to come. Don't understand the hate.

Im more annoyed with Wilks.

Agree. He is still better than Jimmy and miles better than the dude who couldn't beat out Darnold. Defense has allowed almost 900 yards of offense and an 82% completion rate the last two games. Brock has been good but can't carry the team by himself if the defense cannot stop anybody. Get rid of that f**king loser Wilks today or miss the playoffs...pretty simple.

nope it sure as heck don't.....

Brock has to get over that hurdle next ....Can't be giving games away

Not every pick is the QB's fault, and most picks have extenuating circumstances....wrong rout, bad protection...whatever....sure you can share some blame.....

but when the game is on the line...and it is not 4th down...you HAVE to protect that football and live to fight another down.

Brock does a ton of things right, including being a gun slinger....but he has to learn up quickly...there is a time and place for everything.

It's going to be hard to win regardless of what the defense is doing when you're turning the ball over 3 times and only scoring 17 points.

Defense wasn't even TRYING to stop Bengals WRs in the first half. Like, tanking, type soft coverage.
the bar has fallen so low.....we went from "he's the next tom brady" to "he is still better than jimmy".

so sad

Everything he throws that is not a screen is middle. His lack of success will continue to pile up as teams only have to protect half the field. Either the play calling is garbage and predictable or Purdy can't throw outside the numbers. Either way, it will get worse before it gets better.

There is now film of the 49ers O getting worked for 3 games. The rest of the league will watch it, copy it, improve upon their schemes and the owning will only get worse.

Probably should have worded it differently, he's still top 12 IMO. Defense is bottom 5, so there's that.

That's because fans are fickle. People don't have patience and let their emotions carry them from the highs to the lows. Every QB struggles. It's just the nature of the game. I'm not leaving the Purdy bandwagon because even through his struggles, he's still making brilliant plays, he's still showing that he has immense potential. We forget that this dude hasn't even played a full season worth of games. Give him some rope my dudes and ladies.

Nobody is forgetting that he's still learning. The issue is that he's starting to make bad throws that he wasn't making before. Maybe he's trying to do too much. Maybe he just plays better with the lead. This 3 game losing streak certainly isn't all on Brock but he's part of it. Instead of making the big plays like he was he's making big mistakes. Not just turnovers but critical turnovers. That has to stop.

Yeah, that happens to all QBs. Mahomes, Allen, Burrows, Herbert, etc. all make boneheaded throws, all have stretches of throwing picks in bad times. It literally happens to every QB in the league. Yet we can't handle our young QB having a bad stretch without sounding like toddlers. Have some f**king perspective.

this is all fine IF we niners are in a "rebuilding mode", we'd have all the patience in the world

but truth is the niners are in WIN NOW mode, and you can win a superbowl being a turnover machine

it doesnt sound fair for brock, but that's the position he's in...we got rid of lance and jimmy because he was supposed to be "the one" THIS YEAR.

it's an open question,

better than a 31/32 year old JG with a bunch of surg all over, sure
better than 2017 JG, I think that was always a debate.

2022 BP looked really good, so did 2017 JG
dif is 2022 BP had a loaded team, 2017 JG had a team that had a hard time winning 1 game
