In his defense, he hadn't thrown a football since Sunday before a few to warmup before the game.

For sure but rib bruises and oblique injuries hurt like heck. He's a soldier but hopefully 100% in a couple of weeks. He seemed a bit tight in his release.

Or just keep developing him. We all know SF goes though QBs like water

This. You never know when it'll be your time. Be ready.

We're set for @ least 2-3 yrs.
If Brock Purdy ends up being our guy, it would be the best thing salary cap wise. He's making approx $700k this year and in 2025 will make $1.1M.

that would make our super bowl MASSIVE

Then he starts the game with 10 or 11 straight completions. I keep looking for flaws in his game and so far there aren't a lot. His pocket awareness is good. He can escape the rush and run for the first down when needed. He looks over the field and goes to his 3rd or even 4th receiver when needed. He spots the open receivers downfield and puts the ball on target.

Right now there are a lot of scouts wondering how they missed so badly on this guy. I'm not saying he should have been a 1st or even a 2nd round pick but he's certainly good enough to be a 3rd rounder. His size and speed probably knocked him down but he seems to run faster than his 4.8 40 time would indicate. Maybe he didn't train for the 40 and his time is a real time vs the phony track times that some players post.

Makes guys easier to resign and can even stack the roster more
This is a play where I think Jimmy checks it down to CMC vs wait for Kittle to break free

Yup! Can nab a bunch of good vets in the off season with that extra cash to bolster our roster next year. I'd rather do that and go into the season with Lance as the backup (if Brock continues to play how he has).

His 40 yards time is misleading.
Purdy´s 10 yards and 20 yards splits are really good actually for a QB.
He´s quick to evade the pressure and that´s all you need in this offense.
The Niners don´t necessarily need a supreme athlete like Lamar Jackson.
And I would love to have Lamar as QB, it´s just an example.
They need someone that is quick enough to scramble and be a playmaker. That´s something Jimmy can´t do anymore after the ACL injury. And even before the knee injury he wasn´t as mobile as Purdy.

Yeah I mean that was the game plan imo. Lance's cap hit is all but gtd, so regardless if it's Brock or Lance starting the cap spent on QB is pretty damn cheap.

I never really saw SF spending cash on Jimmy.

If Purdy leads them to a SB win then he probsbly gets a new contract. The Niners would be crazy to risk him getting upset and have him walk in 2 years.

You can't give him a new contract until he's on his third year. So he's stuck at that cap hit for at least two years
