yikes

Yeah, it's just kinda gross tbh.

Hopefully, BP doesn't pay too much attention to the noise..he says he doesn't but then you got ppl interviewing him that bring the noise to him with dumb, doubter questions. For reactionary purposes I guess but dumb nonetheless. I am concerned slightly that things are getting to him mentally. Players are pretty critical of themselves, which is fine, hypercritical can be a problem for the mind which I am sure he is aware of. Just hope he remembers to stay in that balanced mind set that helped get him here in the first place. I am sure he will. Hard probably when you have idk, a crap DC lol. BP has showed he can learn fast, adapt and adjust. I really blame this more on the coaching staff..but I can probably say that 500 more times....doesn't mean I should though lolol.

I do not believe any player on this planet that says they don't pay attention. It's human nature. I wonder how many 9ers come into this forum to read? I bet Brock does too and at least his dad.

He pays attention. Bet on it. I know if I were a player the snooping would be unavoidable.
i bet they don't even know about the WZ
So what's the expectation here? Is it elite QB? Or is it better than average? A better than average QB looks really good part of the game and then fails to deliver twice when it matters. An elite QB wins the game.

Those two picks, what were they? That wasn't because of arm strength, that's for sure, so there's at least that. But we need more from him if we want six. Call me a hater all you want, we are NOT winning the Super Bowl if Brock doesn't play better than he's played the last two games.

Brock is a second year guy. He has a lot to learn still. He's already pretty good now, and I have faith he will become a better QB over time. But when the team is sucking ass, that's when elite QBs win the game for their team. That's what we need. We're not the only team with a talented roster. The ones who also have elite QB play are the ones who will be standing at the end.

Bottom line: we need Brock to play better, this year. Not in two years. We need him NOW. Because "pretty good" is not going to get us six.

Well we're a little older and went through the growing pains with Walsh and Montana BEFORE the glory years. And even during the glory years, we blew it so many times, including Montana. Hell, most people don't even know that in the '81 NFCCG, Montana threw three INT's! He was pretty bad in that game, until the end of course. I see many similarities with Kyle/Purdy and the group as a whole. We have something special, just need to keep working and grinding. A fan base with some faith and heart would certainly help.

Can we stop with the Montana comparisons? Brock hasn't won big like Joe yet.

I'm old enough to remember when Lance was Hurts / Josh Allen
just the nature of these threads I suppose

I agree, he's 23. I say we give him room to grow into whatever he's going to become.

The problem is we need him to be grown right now. Fortunately there are ten games left for him to grow. As long as we make the playoffs, we have a chance. And if he beats the struggles and becomes better by the end of it, we can pull it off. But Monday's defensive performance proves we need more than a decent QB who's better than Jimmy G. We need a guy who can win the game for us. Brock was not that Monday. He may become that in two or three years. But if we're going to win the Super Bowl this year, by the time the playoffs roll around, we need him to graduate from tier two to elite.
Aside from the 2 ints there was a play where BA was wide open but Brock threw the ball in the dirt. Just gotta play better

He was scrambling wildly away from the pass rush and threw back against the direction he was running. An extremely, extremely hard throw. You don't make every one of those.

I don't think he needs to be an elite QB to not make the critical mistakes we saw last night, and the practical reality is we can't replace him with an elite QB to fit this team's window. Definitely not this year especially.

He's played very well obviously for the most part. Hopefully just a couple bumps in the road.

Sorry but
An elite qb can never make a mistake ..tell that to Tom. I guess a newer qb has to carry the entire team on his shoulders, even when coaching sucks, the kicker is crap for the most part, there are multiple injuries and receivers dropping balls.

But don't compare Purdy to Tom..just expect results like Tom or even better than Tom lol

Exactly. Hurts literally threw a game losing pick and couldn't drive them to win afterwards the week before...

Exactly. Allen has looked inconsistent as all hell, worst season since his 2nd year where he was finally playing better.

Hurts was what 7tds and 7ints before last week playing against backup Miami cbs
His physical limitations always are gonna be there and that's why he needs to be perfect in the mental aspect of the game because that's the only way he can be a starter in this league with those limitations.

Those 2 ints were mental mistakes and he made a lot of those in Iowa State when he had to carry the team in crunch time.

We need him to play better NOW because I was told this is a Super Bowl team that could not wait for Trey to develop. Well goddamn it let us see a Super Bowl right now with Brock. Because PHI developed Hurts and now they don't have these problems. We couldn't play Trey year one because Super Bowl. He couldn't compete for QB1 because Super Bowl. Well god dammit I want a Super Bowl because it's been three years of this crap!

I have faith as we're 5-2 with control of our destiny but it's time to see it this year this season!

Don't worry. After Philly plays Washington they play
Dallas
@KC
Buffalo
SF
@Dallas
@Seattle

Hurts is NOT having a very good year…..and that's WITH the best OL at holding….I mean pass blocking

It's WHEN the mistakes are made. Look, fanboy all you want, but if he plays like that when it matters we are not winning the Super Bowl. I like the kid and love his anticipation and arm angles and mobility. But we need better than the last two games.

Pretty sure those INTs had nothing to do with physical limitations. I haven't rewatched because the two games traumatized me, but based on the first viewing they just looked like god awful passes and/or decisions.

Lol Shanny said Brock played very well against the Vikes overall. He seemed mostly unhappy with Wilks and frustration with the fumble and missed fg. If Shanny is fanboying..I definitely join him with that. We won't win the superbowl with a crap DC, no matter how good our qb is. We can't allow easy damn, pitch & catch games for offensive opponents. We also have a mediocre kicker who misses fgs, injures, dropped balls by receivers, fumbles by CMC and time clock blunders. Brock isn't some damn miracle worker, yet is somehow expected to come out with a win despite all of this? Ok. Also, he is going to have mistakes here and there. But it's good we can see what the problems are..work on them..in time for the playoffs.
