Something to keep an eye on with Brock is his 3rd down passing. He was money in the bank last year when it came to 3rd down passing, 2nd to only Jimmy G in the NFC. This season he is only converting on 33%. In contrast, he was converting at a rate of 48% last season.
The season is still beginning. Those 3rd down timing throws need to be repped more in practice. Timing was just off with Brock in the Rams game. Those three overthrows probably affected that 3rd down stat a bit.
That is why I said it was something to keep an eye on and didn't say it was something to panic over. However, the results are the results at this point.
Were all 3 of those over throws on 3rd down? I know that 1 of them was but not sure about the other 2.
2/3 were.
So 2 of his 10 incompletions on 3rd down were deep shot over throws. If he does hit those 2, that would put him at a 46.7% conversion rate. Which would be close to his conversion rate last season.
Small sample size affecting those numbers quite a bit. I'd expect him to be closer to and even higher than he was last season, as this season progresses.

We should steal the Packers opening play, it was run look and they even had Love point to the safety as a run block assignment, then it was 50 yards downfield flea flicker

We will see. Which is why I stated in my op to keep an eye on it.

That's a great tidbit.
Yeah, it's something I've been watching but what's interesting is how good he's been on first and second - seems like a lot of drives don't even have a third down

Dude was crying as a kid cause his team didn't win and he hated that he couldn't help… lmao this guy is ridiculously competitive. I love it.
i always loved how competitive guys like Brady & Kobe were - it just snowed in their play every time they touched the ball. I'm not saying he is, or will be, them. I just like the fact that he is Uber competitive. You can see it on each drive - he's pissed when a drive doesn't work out. I love it

Well there is a difference between between competitive and then there is like "I want to win at everything I do". I think Jimmy is a competitor but I also think he views the results as "is what it is". Where as someone like Brock, I get the impression he is isn't like that. He's more of "eff that, what can I do to get better to kick their ass"

Yup. Jimmy rarely showed any fire. He would just sit on the sidelines and smile even when losing. Raider fans just got to witness it first hand last week

I personally feel like that has been a reason he never really got better. Jimmy was just the same always, and never really grew from his mistakes.
