A silver lining in this is going to be watching them squirm.

Always has been. We aren't some Super Bowl team with Trey or Sam.
all 32 teams riding on QB health

Funny thing is we might be the one team talented enough and well coached enough that we may still have a shot with an injury to our starting QB. Lol

Of course we are, I thought that was proven last year. Hell, we still had a shot at winning the NFCCG with JJ. And the D will be even more ferocious this year. 😈😈😈

Come on Nick, get it done. 🙏🙏

I've been waiting to say "I told you so.." on here because people are so emotional right now, but this offseason has pretty much played out exactly as I called it.
- I said brock would be back in the beginning of camp
- QB1 wasn't up for grabs
- Darnold came in and that a jab at Lance - especially the contract. he wasn't coming in to be QB3
- If trey gets traded, it'll happen at the end of the off season
- I've been saying for weeks that I wouldn't be surprised if Lance was still traded (People flipped out on me).

I didn't think they'd announce Darnold as QB2 if they were going to trade Lance, because of it impacting his trade value. I got that wrong.

This stuff has been pretty clear, all off season, some just didn't want to accept it. They're too emotional (although they called me too emotional somehow) and justified everything with some twist on what was happening. Every move the team has made this off season has shown what they're doing, specifically splitting treys reps and still having a QB4.

I hate how people act like Montana was a dink and dunker. The west coast offense wasn't JUST short passes. It just replaced a lot of runs with short passes. They attacked down the field when it was there, and you could see it in these clips.

I view the WCO as the first style of offense that really viewed the game as a "chess match". It went from just brute play to finesse - and I think the work finesse isn't "soft". It's intelligent and technically sound.

This was actually why I became a 49er fan. I was in the school library reading about the dynasties in the NFL, and the 49ers were defined as a "trick play offense, big play defense," and that essentially they were chess on grass. That intellectual take is why I started following them. That and the colors.

Me not thinking they'd trade Lance has nothing to do with emotion. It's nothing other than we went through five QBs last year and there's no one we would use his money to sign this year. Not to mention his trade value is nearly non-existent.

when i started following football and watching the niners, I studied their history and was enamored with it. Big reason why I fell in love with the franchise. Both of my parents are from SF, so we had this really cool vintage paper bin for an office that had all the superbowls on it that the 49ers won, but it was the history and way they used to dominate that made me love the team.

That and eddie D - I think he was a wonderful owner and that made me like the franchise even more. wish he still had it.

Wouldn't throw you in that group. You make reasoned arguments the vast majority of the time.

I wasn't talking about you specifically, there are just a couple people thats directed at.

I still think we may keep him, who knows, im curious what his market is like. I hope he goes to a place that is good for him too. Not a Sh!thole like Tampa.

saw all this happening over a year ago and most thought is was laughable, the pioneers take the arrows

TL getting traded is a chance for him to reinvent himself on another team, he just wasn't a good fit here

IIRC that was under the assumption that Purdy missed the first few weeks of the regular season and Trey actually played.

The D this off-season hasn't been as good. It's up to the offense.
