Purdy, as a rookie, was one game away from the Super Bowl. We all know that the 2nd year of a players career is where the greatest improvement of that player occurs!

Yeah but they don't usually spend that second off-season rehabbing. I think his big jump will be year three, or second half of year two.
The second year growth is usually from the game slowing down and being a better student. I'm banking on Brock being even better year 2.

If Brock gets even better, does that mean the offense is going to average 40 ppg instead of the 30 ppg from last season?

Depends on how much better. In this day, that's not an impossible feat. And with this team, I mean, again, it's not impossible.

Sorry. I was being sarcastic. Can Brock grow but it not necessarily show up on the score board? Absolutely. I have a hard time seeing this offense produce at a significantly higher level than it did last season. I do think that defenses will be better prepared for him and that if the offense is going to maintain its production from last season Brock will have to stay a head of the curve.

He's a 49er QB. He'll still average around 200 yards +/- 20 yards a game in passing. The offense will still mostly run through CMC and the running game at 140 yards a game. I don't anticipate that formula ever changing.

The real question is, can Brock be even more efficient within that volume? That's gonna be tough, honestly. He was about as efficient as you're going to get.

I hope fans aren't setting themselves up with unrealistic expectations here.

It will be really tough to exceed or even match some of those efficiency stats from last season for sure. Defenses are going to adjust to his game and his game is going to need to evolve for him to continue to play at a high level. Good thing Brock is super competitive and more importantly has what takes between the ears.
Over/under 500 pass attempts this season?

We run the ball so much I don't know if that would ever happen.

We had a total of 512 pass attempts last season and 514 in 2021.
"His mind could keep up with Kyle's," general manager John Lynch noted.

He was a top 3-5 QB last year. I'll take that.

Across how many QB's?

This was something so noticeable right away. For a rookie to grasp as much as Brock did right out of the gate seemed insane. Even MVP Matt Ryan got frustrated AF trying to learn everything.

Going forward, we need to invest HEAVILY in protecting Brock.

Well if all goes well, just one.

30 pass attempts per game puts it over 500 for the season.

You know what, forgive me. I am old. I forgot we have 17 game seasons now lol. So yeah you are correct it is definitely possible. It will be a damn miracle for Purdy to play all 17 games.

I'm surprised no one was cut and signed yesterday. At the very least I hope they pick up a veteran on cut day.

Hahaha I forgot about the 17th game as well, for a moment. I say we break 500 but it won't be by much. It'll be right in that 490-515 mark.
