I know they sound similar, but they're not.

I really think pre-injury Jimmy was a rare dude. He was killing people with that release, he was hitting on DBs while they were still in thier backpedal.

It reminded me of prime Warren Moon, from the days he was a full half second faster then the next closest dude in time to release.....

No jimmy did not have everything....but pre-injury the dude was DAMN quick to pull the trigger....he had a rare skillset....

I dont think Brock has any rare physical traits....I do think he has a rare mentality....

He reminds me a bit of the college version of Ely Manning, or maybe a weak version of Brett Farve....there is some riverboat gambler in him. He plays like he has an ace up his sleeve.

Maybe he just has the playbook that much on lock down that he knows he has something about to come open, I guess if he has a rash of ints like Farve and Manning had...we will know he has been betting and winning vs knowing.

Cause he either bet right a ton last year, or he knew a ton last year.

I think you mean 2017.. and not pre-injury.

Remember the reason he got injured was because he was struggling to start the season in 2018, especially in comparison to how he finished 2017. He was desperate to get anything going and when he ran down the sideline.. instead of going out of bounds, he cut back up to gain more yards.

Now that might have had to do with teams adjusting to him, or like what some tried to push here about QBs in Kyle's system struggling in their second seasons.

It's like as soon as he had more time with the playbook and the expectations of what Kyle wanted he regressed.

So Jimmy is better at backyard football than he is playing in an actual NFL system?

Yup, dude even admitted it after the Seattle game when he took over for Lance. Talking about it's like riding a bike and the fact he just came in there where they had to let him play his own game because the game plan was for Trey. Then of course the following week when the game plan for him was set he played one of the worst games an NFL qb can play.

Some guys are just better at f**k it do your own thing football just don't lose the game and some can't handle a system especially one as complex and demanding as Kyle's

Am I the only one worried that Kyle is gonna put handcuffs on Brock? I think it's gonna limit brocks play making ability and he'll start too play more like Jimmy...

I am not worried. Kyle is gonna play Brock like last season.

This is different from Jimmy G. Jimmy G succeeded in 2017 without knowing the playbook. He played backyard football. 2018 had to be different knowing Jimmy G finally had the full offseason to learned the playbook.

I dont buy for one second that Jimmy wasnt running Shanahan's system against Seattle. Sure, the gameplan would have been different for Trey, but the system was still in place. Jimmy was in the system for 5 years. The entire system didnt change in one offseason because Jimmy wasnt supposed to be here. The concepts and what not werent different.

If Brock starts making a ton of mistakes and cant execute the offense at a high level (FTR, I dont believe this will happen), then you are damn right Kyle is going to handcuff Brock a but....and rightfully so. If he is ballin out like he was last season, Kyle wont put handcuffs on him. He isnt an idiot.

You mean the 62% completion rate, 154 yards passing and a handful of underthrown deep balls? That week 2 Seattle game? We ran the ball 45 times in that game.

Neither Nick or Grant are demanding Trey to start... lol

That was the funniest non-debate debate I've ever seen. 🤣

Wright is a disingenuous moron. he says near the end that if they Niners were positioning it as "we love Trey Lance. we think he can be great but Brock Purdy has earned this" he would support it. uhhhh...that's exactly what Kyle and John have been saying.

these national talking head "debate" shows just rot minds.

Pitts is never an easy place to get a W. I don't care how good or bad the Steelers are in any given season, they can embarrass any team on any Sunday. The one thing that can be said about them is, they do sometimes lay eggs on opening day, but I wouldn't count on that with our luck. I just hope the Niners get the win and leave Pitts healthy.

They did upset Buffalo the season opener of 2021, at home.

And in 2019 when we hosted them at Levi's, they managed to place us quite a bit tougher than expected.

I imagine this will be no different, but I expect a victory this time around.

We haven't won in Pittsburgh in quite a long time.......time to end the streak.....1993 and 1996 were our last ones in Pittsburgh, we've never won at Heinz Field (0-2).
gotta love nick wright

Or they're putting more weight in the actions of the team and less in the words.

It's hard to believe they're in love with Lance when they signed another guy to compete with him. Brock's injury was a prime opportunity to plan to give every rep to Lance and potentially another opportunity to give him real playing time… and they clearly passed on it. Lance can of course win his competition and change any thinking that went into their current plan, but it's really hard to hang on these public statements when there's no benefit to anybody to say anything else.

That said, those guys are still idiots and the shows will rot your mind, lol.

They replaced the Giant Ketchup Bottle, sadly. As I happen to enjoy ketchup. It is now Acrisure, which sounds like some sort of back acne medication, or cream. Same stadium tho.

i dont see it that way. i see Kyle and John bringing in experienced depth.

people kinda forget Trey only has 9 more career passing attempts in his high school, college and pro career combined than Brady had in just the 2022 season alone.
