LOL. Always need to be 3 deep at QB, 4 deep at RB, 10 deep at OL, 4 deep at TE, etc. Ha

Kyle did an interview before yesterdays game with MM and he said that on the qb sneak against the dolphins, that wasn't supposed to be the play call cause of how the defense was aligned. When they tried to explain to Purdy why it was bad he said "I know it was bad, but I had to do it. Screw them". Hahaha I love it

The two times we've run QB sneaks with Purdy, it looks so much harder than when Jimmy does it. Given that Tom Brady and Jimmy G are so effective at it, there are finer details to it to maximize its success that Purdy may not know yet. Purdy's been successful twice, but it feels like it was just sheer effort on his part, and push from the other offensive players (which I'm not complaining about).
I still think I am gunna go with a Purdy Hate Machine shirt:). Those who get it, get it.

We are seeing a guy who has played a LOT of football in his career. He has seen a lot of stuff. Only the speed of the game is different. The media is giving us a reaction to the stereotype of a rookie, and Brock Purdy doesn't fit it.

Same, he doesn't seem to be one to get too high or too low (I sound like Kyle). I do wonder how he'll look when things start to go South a bit. It's all great experience either way WHILE winning a division. Pretty incredible!
It's a Brock party in here! Good for you (and us) Rookie!

Exactly. The announcers on Sunday made a good point as well, Purdy has been going up against the #1 defense in practice for weeks...that will accelerate any rookie's learning curve.

First play.

"Not great scheme here for me."

This is also what Kurt Warner talked about. Either no hot read by design or he's to the back side which doesn't help the QB if blitzed. Result, Brock gets killed.

Anybody know more about why Kyle does this?

He audibled into the wrong play. That was on him

Fine. Let's blame Kyle for allowing Brock to audible.

That's usually how it goes around here. Find any and every reason to blame and point the finger at Kyle.

OMG ya'll are so sensitive. LOL

Listen to him again from :43-3:00 mark where he's talking about the design in general. Same with Kurt. That's two pro QB's talking about this design now.

I will say, he did cover a play (7:23) where it looked like Kyle has CMC run out of the backfield to the play side on Brock's rushing TD. Loved it.

You asked why Kyle does this. Someone stated that it was an audible by Brock, and a wrong one at that. I assume you didn't hear the comment about how it was the wrong audible (Kyle's post game presser).

No didn't hear that. Obviously JT didn't either but what does that have to do with the design issues he was talking about? Esp. on the first play of the game.
I swear

Good throw given the circumstances but I would expect that ball being thrown more towards the EZ. CMC does not look like he is expecting the ball being thrown yards behind him. and the DB does not look like he knows what he is doing, imho the pass was indeed defendable.

He had an oblique injury since the second drive. Could have played a part.

Because the play that Brock audibled to was not designed to beat whatever the Bucs were doing on that play.
For example, if a defense play 5 DBs in deep zone, and the QB audibles to Four Verticals (4 deep routes), is that the fault of the head coach for having a stupid play design, or the fault of the QB for audibling into a play that is not suited to beat the defensive playcall?

For the play in question, route-wise, Brock dialed up a man coverage beater, trying to get a rub for Aiyuk's short crosser. Bucs were in zone. That there already tells me it's the wrong play versus that coverage. Look at the routes and how nothing is open, it's a bunch of short crossers versus fire zone blitz. I don't know enough about pass protection calls to comment on that aspect, but obviously that was wrong too.

Accurate.

I have to say that I haven't felt this confident on our QB position in years. If Purdy keeps this up by the time Jimmy can return I don't think I wanna see Jimmy. If Purdy is playing well I can't see Shanny switching to Jimmy. And if Purdy wins the SB Trey Lance can forget being the starter in 2023.

If we beat Seatle this Thursday we will win every other regular season game. If that happens Lance will not be starting next season. If we get into to the playoffs we have a great chance of going all the way but anything can happen in the playoffs. That is a different animal.

Lance and Jimmy G can both see the writing on the wall. If he keeps winning they are both expendable.

Saying it over and over won't will it into existence. The problem is you keep saying it based on what you've seen. But Kyle is the only person who knows exactly what he wants and what each QB brings. I can't say you're wrong any more than you can say you're right. It is clear that we're in great shape at the position, but if he wins the SB, no doubt next year we'd see a competition.
