Stats are one thing, but he plays the game different than JG. In that sense, he is no JG 2.0. For example, his ability to throw off platform, or side step a pass rusher, keep the play alive for a scramble drill. They are all unique guys, so I don't see a Brees 2.0 and I don't see a JG 2.0, either.
Identical stats…People took a couple plays of him extending and act like he was doing it all the time which in fact wasn't true.

You should love the Jimmy comp, you were the #1 Jimmy fan…why are you acting like that's a negative towards Brock? You defended Jimmy for years.
He did what Jimmy was doing his whole time here + making the occasional off script play, challenging the defenses all over the field as well. He was definitely an upgrade. Also showed the personality you want to see in a QB, not just smiling all the time especially if things were not going well.
This is key. It isn't just the off script plays, which Jimmy just started doing last year (that's why I'd like to see the graphs compared to 2019-2021.
it was also the way brock opened the offense for everyone by attacking all aspects and attempting tight window throws. The pressure that puts on defenses is real, couple that with the fact our offense is already difficult to deal with - it's a recipe for what we saw last season

The biggest difference between Jimmy's first handful of games in 2017 and Brock's in 2022 is Jimmy had a 4.9% TD rate and Brock had a 7.6% TD rate. You could say that Jimmy didn't have the same level of talent around him in 2017. But Jimmy's TD rate was still lower in 2022 with a 5.2% with the same level of talent around him. And don't say that Jimmy didn't have CMC for half of those games in 2022 because Brock didn't have Deebo for most of his starts. And I consider CMC and Deebo the same level of talent.

Brock was grinding. Can't wait for him to shake off the rust and show us what he learned from watching the film.
While focusing so much of his attention on rehab, Purdy also had to balance normal quarterback offseason activities, such as watching film and studying the 49ers' playbook in preparation for next season.
"Yeah, obviously you wake up, take all the right supplements for your arm and everything, and then you go and do your rehab," Purdy explained. "I still worked out my body, did everything, just with my body itself, not just my arm. And then I come home and get into the playbook, watch some film, break down stuff that I could've done better last year, just a couple hours of that, and then still try to do a little bit more treatment after on my arm.

Jimmy didn't have CMC for half those starts…… 😈 hahah
I also think the fact that jimmy wasn't really running the actual offense and Brock was, is a material difference and should inspire confidence that Brock will continue it.
We didn't see Jimmy slow down until he was entrenched in running the system, even before he tore his ACL, he didn't look good in those couple of games.

Jimmy was also a 2nd round draft pick who sat behind Brady for a few years before coming to us. Brock was the last pick in the draft coming off the bench in the middle of a playoff run. Two way different situations. Jimmy came in toward the end of an inevitable failed season. Absolutely no pressure on him whatsoever. Brock came in to lead a team that was in the middle of a playoff run. That is tremendous pressure on such a young kid. Dude was learning on the job and never once cracked and came within 1 game of the SB because of a freak injury.

Jimmy was having a career season last year for sure. Had him in my top 5 most efficient QB's before his injury. Brock was playing out his mind. Especially for where he was drafted.

I just reading updates about Jimmy and the raiders players are gushing about him. Lol similar to how our locker room loved him.
that august 10th practice is going to be awesome.

No, it was a bunch of guys on their team that I didn't know besides hunter renfrow. I think one was their stsrting center. A couple of other guys - Idk their team too well.
he took today off to rest. I imagine they're doing it to watch his foot. Man he must of really busted up that foot
what was interesting though is some players made comments like "it's nice to not have divas" or something like that. I wonder if that was directed at carr. He totally seems like the type to tell you how you should be as religious as him or you're going to hell. Lmao

No one isn't going to NOT love Jimmy, he's just one of the dudes who happens to play qb. It's just when he plays qb I'm sure he'll frustrate the likes of Adams
