They're both somewhat handcuffed… Jim was moreso.

Kyle hopefully gets it done in the next year or two.

Yes sir more like ankle bracelets.
On the Richard Sherman podcast today that had Aiyuk - he said that the staff has said that Brock is ready! I guess we will find out what he meant by that exactly but I thought that was interesting

Say what you want about Baalke but the 9ers wouldn't have been better off with Michael Lombardi. Harbaugh ego is the biggest impediment to his own success (still is).

They would have probably been better off with any qualified candidate outside of the organization. Baalke was a symptom.

Still blows my mind that harbaugh & baalke didn't collaborate on draft picks. Lol Trent just took who he wanted and harbaugh had to deal with it.

Based on things I've read, it's surprising how many teams operate that way. That's a big reason kyle wanted to select his GM, so he had a real partner and not a war.

I think what happened is Jimmy became that way after the INTs started piling up. In particular, I think the real turning point was the Lions in 2018, with that pick six that got called back thanks to a defensive penalty.

Here is where he would have ranked in 2017, 18, and 19 in INT% had he threw enough passes to qualify (lower = better):

27th in the league, just ahead of Jay Cutler.
28th in the league, just ahead of Nick Mullens and Josh Rosen.
26th in the league, just behind Andy Dalton and just ahead of Sam Darnold.

He became gunshy because of his own interceptions.

Coaches do NOT tell a QB to not throw to the open guy. Shanahan has point blank said that he does not. In fact, he has said straight up he prefers the QB to take the deeper open guy, and only said something to the effect of, "Well, I'd prefer the QB take the open guy down the field, but if the shorter pass works when a deeper guy was open, well you can't complain."

Kyle has said a million times that he doesn't like his QBs to be gunshy.

I feel like the first time I've seen jimmy start to sling it since 2017 was last year. It was like he had this "eff it, what happens Happens". I thought he was playing great ball.

Ive said it a lot - you can't be out there thinking, just playing. Just instinctually reacting.

I've felt like aaron Rodgers over the last 6-7 seasons or so wasn't the same caliber he was, regardless of the MVPs, because he's so conscious of throwing picks. He's talked about how he tries to keep it low so he has certain ratio and records stat wise. Obviously, Rodgers is still great and very good but I think it's telling of why he struggles most when it counts in the second half of his career.

Speaking of which, that's another problem Trey Lance has had. He gets scared, and then the moment is lost, and it's chaos.

I also agree on Rodgers. Dude hasn't taken enough chances and it's cost them.

Yeah, I was talking to someone else and it was more of lances timing being off. He doesn't pull the trigger as quick as he can sometimes. I think his new throwing motion will help build confidence with that and it'll be fine. His previous windup was pretty funky and long. QBs have made it work like rivers, Herbert, etc but I think it's better to have the motion he has now. Also helps protect the ball.

So Rodgers has spoken openly about how he tries hard to not Throw picks. Which I think has a negative impact on his game, because like you said he gets a little gun shy. Obviously he's one of the best ever but if you notice when we play him in the playoffs, he's thrown picks. No one tries to throw picks but I feel like if you're actively thinking about that - it has a negative impact on the attempts you make and that can hurt your team.
A couple years ago he had a guy open for a deep touchdown, but overthrew him, and I think he was being cautious there too.

I think the timing on his throws will come with time and reps. He just needs experience. Its expected when you really look at his overall experience.

live action is very different than practice, so he just needs game experience. I think he will get a lot of quality reps this camp too.
