QB Brock Purdy Thread

I'm fascinated by Trey's ceiling so I can't jump immediately on the Brock bandwagon.

Why not? I'm on the Purdy bandwagon but I still believe in Trey.

I can't jump on any bandwagon after we passed up on the chance to develop Vance McDonald at QB. He was so big, so strong, so fast, his ceiling as a QB was just out of this world. I'm still not over it

It makes no sense to me why people have to hate one of them, there's a significant chance we'll need both of them this year because when it comes down to it neither have made it through a season without a season ending injury. Heck we may start Purdy but have Trey play significant snaps to discombobulate defenses. it's like there's a program some people run in their minds where one option is good which means the other option must be the s**ttiest option in the history of options. It's a false dilemma.

Been saying this for years. This team could win a lot of games with Jimmy (and we did). But I want a QB that can pick up the slack when mistakes are made. Aside from a short stint with Kaepernick, we havent had that since I was a teenager. Just want the margin of error to be bigger than it is and has been. An elite QB will help help that.

For me, being fully on the Brock bandwagon has nothing to do with Trey. It has to do with Brock being able to demonstrate that he is over his injury and that last year was not a fluke. As far as the latter goes, he demonstrated enough to me last season that I am not worried at all about it being a fluke. But stranger things have happened. Really its just being able to demonstrate health after that injury.

Brock looked every bit the part last year, and am excited for his future with this team.

That should be the goal. Elite QB play makes everyones job easier.

Weird stuff, man. I mean if one of them had lost us a ton of games by not doing there part,...I guess I begin to get it after a certain point.

But it's kinda crazy all the pivoting they feel like they need to do for 2 young guys. Why not just enjoy the process and save the hatred for later this year should things go afoul?

It's even harder to get it done when teams arent always actively trying to find the next elite QB.

Much of the time the cost is a high first rounder just to gamble for one. In the rare circumstances where an existing player in the league becomes available, it usually requires multiple picks, an extremely high salary, and there's usually some warts present (age, attitude, etc).

I'm not sharing any secrets but they aren't readily available, that's why they're so valuable.
