He's had one (throwing) session thus far and we're incredibly encouraged by that," Lynch said on SiriusXM NFL Radio this morning. "He's hitting all his marks and that doesn't surprise us, because he's putting in all the work.
"As for best-case scenario, we'll take it as it comes. The hope is he's ready for training camp. The hope is he's ready for the regular season," Lynch added.
The 49ers reconvened Tuesday for their second week of organized team activities, which is presumably when Purdy was cleared to throw a football for the first time; that session was closed to the media, which will be allowed back on the field for today's session.
Training camp will begin in roughly two months, and the regular-season opener is Sept. 10 at the Pittsburgh Steelers.
i don't think people realize he will be taking reps in camp. Possibly from the start. To be 7+ weeks into throwing rehab by the time it starts, he will have a lot of his strength back. More than enough take reps, just how many is the question. I estimate that he will be at least 80% back by the time camp starts
Read about this kid being a football freak- always talking about football, eat and sleep with football in mind, it's always football talk even with friends during offseason, doesn't party, doesn't go to a bar, prefers to stay in dorm and just study and watch football films or play Madden. I'm pretty sure he took his rehab to another level. Like when he was told that there is a chance his arm, after the surgery and rehab, will become stronger, more flexible and more durable if he will do the works. Can't wait to see his bionic arm in action.
Yes sir! To me, he is the ideal qb (as long as he continues and improves). At least what I consider an ideal qb. I don't think there is anything he is "bad" at. I don't think he has any issues, with his game or personality, that should cause concern.
he obviously has things he needs to improve upon, you can always get better and fix things, but I don't think he has anything that's worrisome, ya know?
im usually pretty critical of QBs because I don't want anytbing short of "Great". Like I want the next HOF QB. Not someone that's "pretty good" or "really good" or "damn good". I want "great". "Special" "amazing" etc.
to me - he has shown he is capable of it if he improves and is consistent. Couple that with his ice cold nerves and mind, I think we are in great hands for the next 15 years.
