He will probably rush himself back if he feels like his #1 spot is in jeopardy to Lance.
This team and QB injuries, its crazy.

Like how lanced wouldn't acknowledge his finger injury and put the team in jeopardy so no one would take his job? :/

haha I'm just ribbing but I get what I tried to tough it out.

I don't think BCB is concerned about losing his job to the other QBs on the roster.

QB controversy only lives in the heads of a certain fan base on this board.

Outside of your wildly biased view towards Lance. What about that statement is funny? Young QB that this team has nothing invested in might try to rush back to make sure he maintains his spot? He might be in a rush to actually play football in the off season…Instead of heal properly. I mean I doubt the team allows it, but let's keep it real this team doesn't seem to be good with injuries or give two s**ts about letting so and so maintain their spot on a roster. If you stack up good days throughout the off season. You're gonna play.

Lol only you would say this.

You mean the team? They knew his finger was f**ked. It's not like he was wearing mittens or something lol.

Kyle is old school, if you can walk he expects you to play and play well.
I'm old enough to remember when Kyle talked about Jimmie Ward and him being his favorite player…he said if he could wear anyone's jersey it would be his.

Ward gets banged up and Gipson makes a couple plays and he tells Ward you either play in the slot or ride the bench.

kyle doesn't give a f**k about keeping spots for so and so due to injuries. Someone else steps up when you're out. You ain't playing. Probably part of the reason why these guys play with their injuries and might come back to soon. It's football and there's always someone else looking to take advantage. Brock is a perfect example.

Why would you want him to be anyone but Brock Purdy?
He deserves QB1 but he hasn't cemented himself there. If Lance plays well through camp and is deemed our best choice for QB1 in week 1, then we go with him. If Lance essentially plays like Purdy did last year (essentially perfect), it would be tough to pull Lance. Barring that outcome, Purdy will resume his QB1 spot when healthy.

Watch the games sometime. He's obviously the best QB on the roster. It's not close.

Like.. at all. lol not even the same realm. I feel like some don't realize that darnold and lances play were among the bottom of the league stats wise when they've played. If they can get in that middle of the league area, I'd be happy cause it's a big step forward.

if darnold and Lance can get to like 70-75% of what Jimmy was efficiency wise, that would be a big leap and I'd be happy. Brock needs to just get healthy and improve upon what he did last season.

I agree. He's the best guy.

You need to take this rational smart approach right on out of here. We only deal in suppositions and conjecture viewed from the perspective of people who put a player above the team.

We seem to do some sketchy things with our qb injuries. Lol. They had to know Lance was hurting, there is no way they didn't. Which I find hilarious cause we seem to take other players injuries more serious and give them more time

they let Brock play when he could barely tbrow against seattle. Lol

for some reason Jimmy didn't get surgery on his foot…. Lol

it's like we convince them the injury isn't that bad. Hahah watch jimmy sue the 49ers if this raiders contract goes sour.

I've been a Lance fan from the moment we made the trade up. I have to admit I'm disappointed to this point, not necessarily from him, but a confluence of unfortunate events. Still, Lance represents the highest potential our offense can achieve. The problem is that Purdy's floor is really high, he came in and immediately had success. We should expect a small slide backwards this season as D coordinators pull apart his weaknesses, but I think he can legitimately be a fringe top-10 QB in the league. And paired with this roster, that may be enough to win a SB. Lance has much higher volatility, but the low-probable boom possibility with Lance remains intriguing.

If Mahomes is essentially what Lance could achieve at this "low-probable boom possibility" and Brees is the same for Purdy, I think everyone would agree you'd want Mahomes.

With all that said, it will be nearly impossible for Lance to usurp Purdy, unless he essentially throws a perfect game between now and whenever Purdy is in football shape.

What almost every single person talking about Purdy missed, whether it's in support of Lance or not, is that he may actually IMPROVE in his second year. All of you expecting defenses to "figure him out" either aren't thinking this through or are biased because they want to make a point and diminish what he did as a rookie which was historical.

So even if defenses "figure him out" like a lot of you are saying, that will more than get canceled out or outweighed by the improvements Purdy could make from year one onward. Why aren't any of you acknowledging this? It is utterly ridiculous. The fact that he can extend plays and throw on the run is a factor that defenses mostly cannot figure out. Look at our number one defense. It always has trouble against quarterbacks that are mobile and make unscripted plays. Brock is one of those qbs and he proved that last year. It's just hilarious. I just don't see how more people or analysts aren't considering how much improvement he can make from year one. They just keep repeating defenses can figure him out
