Gardner Minshew did the ex take sake thing, look at him now?
What about Nick Foles?
He didn't improve the offense like Jimmy did in 2017.
He is terrible at throwing to one side of the field.
He threw a lot of Almost Interceptions.

I showed examples of other players doing similar stuff. Meanwhile we got people saying his Brady or Montana…while I would love that. I will look at the overall history of the position along with here in SF before dying on that hill.

and yes he did throw a handful of balls that could have been easy picks. Those turn into picks (over a 170 sample size) than what? Ya'll want to believe what we want at this point. I'm just keeping it real.

You really didn't show qbs doing anythjng similar to Brock. You cherry picked games from their careers and ignored all of the games around them and compared those to Brock's body of work as a pro.

Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes throw balls that could be picks. Every qb does.

Yeah right lol

I respectfully call b******t 😀. Never seen you this measured with Trey. I think we have a group of Trey haters here that are completely irrational and ridiculous , but you are kind of using that as a way to downplay Purdy Unser the guise of playing devils advocate. Let's just assume there are no injuries at play right now. who do want starting this season?

This, it is so obvious.

How is mayfield breaking the rookie TD record cherry picking? How is RG3 winning OROY with 28 total TDs to 5 INTs cherry picking? Those are BIGGER bodies of work actually.

I brought up Jimmy in 2017 (who you said the same s**t after that happened) and I brought up Jimmy and his 4 games before getting hurt this yr.

Tom Brady and Mahomes have more than 170 passing attempts to go off of it we're talking about interceptable balls.

all I've said ans apparently have to keep saying to you because you don't seem to get it is…..I want to see more from him to declare him being out long-term starting here.

What's there to measure? He hasn't even had two full back to back games.

it's not downplaying Brock. It's not busting a nut prematurely for once. For whatever reason our fan base can't help themselves there. Good or bad.

I already said (many times) that if Brock was healthy he's the leader in the clubhouse. He earned that. I also said none of these guys earned the benefit of the doubt to go out and play poorly for multiple games. There's no playing though the developmental ups and downs that all young QBs should be afforded. Especially ones that cost you multiple firsts to even get in the building that makes has been made clear by our fan base and FO.
14 days until our Franchise QB starts throwing the ball again

me thinks he's going to be just fine to start the first game

As someone with no dog in this fight, who also generally agrees with everything you say, you are 100% downplaying him. Might be subconsciously.

I think most of us do that to a degree subconsciously. We all have a preference or idea of which QBs (or type of qb) is the best for the team going forward. So we defend the other guy and look at the other as not worth playing/starting.

Eh I'm open to any of the 3 winning it. I'm just the most dubious of the one because he's had the largest sample and it hasn't been good.

I just want a great competition between Brock and Trey to see if we can finally find a pro bowl/all pro caliber level starter thst we haven't had in 2 decades.

I try not to just speak ill of any of them to pick another player up. I'm most critical of Lance because I don't think he's shown anything worth generating confidence. It's been a small sample size and I think 90% of it wasn't worth watching.
I'm not glad he was injured, but I'm glad to hear was, because it's a legitimate variable into his performance.

i don't really think much about Darnold because I don't really think he's got a legitimate chance to be the FQB. He's just a fill in. I believe Purdy and Lance will get opportunities over him.

i think Purdy was special. If someone is being critical of him, it's either nitpicking or you're trying to prop up Lance, IMO. I get some aren't sold until they see more of him, but out side of that - there is really nothing to criticize besides improvements he needs in his game. This whole "his physical measurements will hold him back" is just nonsense to me. There's nothing to "dislike" about his game or what he did. That's my thoughts on all 3.

But I'm excited to hear about lances performance in upcoming training/camp. I really hope he balls out and it becomes a tougher competition. If he ends up being the guy we move forward with, I'll support it and hope he's develops how some believe he will.
He isn't gunna be the next Brady but the next Brees:)

They were already doing that during the draft and leading up to it

That's your opinion. Im just not gonna label him Montana 2.0 or some elite level QB yet. I proved reasons as to why. That this point we don't even know when he will be 100% or what the arm will look like on top of it
