brock throwing left handed. Lmao man's preparing for anything.
Imagine him running to his left and just changes hands and chucks it with his left. Would be hilarious

I could see Purdy using his off arm in a scramble, shovel pass, get the ball to CMC kind of play. I broke both bones in my dominant arm when I was younger; learned to write, eat, etc with left hand - for two months. I got fairly proficient with my left hand and to this day I will unconsciously use it instead of the right sometimes.

Thats pretty cool! I didn't break any bones but when I was a teenager, I started doing all sorts of stuff with my left hand like throwing, writing, etc just because it annoyed me
How bad I was at it all with my left, I can still do it all today pretty well. Not as well as my right hand, obviously, but efficiently.

lmao btw, I know it's a typo but "unconsciously" had me cracking up. Lmaoo just using your left while
your knocked out. Just picturing that has me cracking up.

also, didn't mahommes do something crazy like that? I forget who it was but I remember a badass shovel pass under duress by a qb. I'm pretty sure it was mahommes. Just incredible.

We know what you were learning to do with your left hand as a teenager...

.
Also Mahomes yes. Did throw left handed. Purdy plays a lot like Mahomes. Just doesn't have the same arm.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5QTD7yFBj9Q

Hahaha I knew this would be coming. .. and you're absolutely right… well more so left 😏 hahaha

mahommes is just incredible. I don't think anyone in the league is in his Caliber. He could retire right now and would be first ballot hall of fame

Agreed. And that pisses me off every time I think about it. He literally fell into our lap. Then we traded out of two and he fell into our lap again.

Fortunately we have a poor man's Mahomes in Brock, which means we have a guy who has the potential to be top 10.

Yeah, this is why I think Cousins is our true arch nemesis hahaha because the reason we didn't take a QB was cause Kyle planned to get cousins in FA. I hate him. Lol

I think Brock can easily be a top 10 guy, I genuinely believe he can be a top 5 guy. It just won't be as sexy lookin as the way Mahommes does it, but I really believe he has all the ability necessary to lead us to a super bowl convincingly.

I think it can be pretty sexy.

Trey couldn't make that play in his wildest dreams.

This is how I know you people just turned off the game when Jimmy went down. He basically made the same play against the Cardinals, but the ball was hit from his hands.

I don't think that's accurate, at least for me. It wasn't necessarily the scramble that was impressive, it was the perfectly thrown ball in the back corner of the endzone where only Aiyuk could get it while being covered very well.

That's not the most spectacular thing about that play, IMHO. Half the QBs in the league can make that throw. Kirk Cousins and Jimmy G have done a bunch of those. It's definitely the scrambling and keeping the eyes down field that made the Purdy incomplete play great to me.

Coupling all do that is a special play. Big reason why I'm so pro Brock. The awareness, scrambling, eyes downfield, dime of a TD (should be) into a super tight window in the back of the endzone 😍😍😭😭

Agree, and I'll just add that *rookies* don't do this thing normally. Heck, even 2nd year players don't. That play is just another data point that shows Purdy is something special. As much as I think Kyle is the 2nd coming of Bill Walsh, I think Kyle lucked out on choosing Brock Purdy. I'm betting if Purdy came out in the same draft class, and Kyle knows back then what he knows now about Purdy - it would be Brock Purdy that Kyle would trade some number one picks for to move up in the draft.

couldn't be happier we landed this guy.

also cool that Trey was such a big help to him, he's always seemed like a great teammate

Great interview, great composure despite being surprised Jimmy was going to be out more than one series. He loves Kyle's offense. I can't wait to see him 💯% and slicing and dicing NFL defenses. 2nd year is the time for the biggest improvement in a typical NFL career, I'm just imagining how good Brock will be in his 2nd year under Kyle.😳😳😳

I love how the guy can't throw but is still focused on improving what he can. Dude Is a football nerd and I love it.

You'd think that every player is but I think most people would be surprised at how a lot of players don't study the game or it's history - outside of what's in their job description. There's a reason why Purdy was so ready and composed

Rudy Ruttiger is a classic example of hustle beating talent if talent doesn't hustle.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rudy_Ruettiger

In the John Lynch interview, he said Kyle and him are better now in evaluating spirit and passion for the game than before. Actually they are saying that is what they are most focused on more than talent.
I do think that when we've missed it's been more that spirit part than it has been the talent. The talent we're pretty good at identifying, I think it's probably the spirit. We spend a lot of our focus on trying to learn as much as possible and that's where the scouts come in, you really have to rely on the scouts to get to know these players over a course of time.
https://www.49erswebzone.com/articles/168461-transcript-everything-49ers-john-lynch-pre-draft-press-conference/
*I just want to preface that everything below is my belief and I'm not stating it as fact, Although I do believe it to be true.

Yeah, I've always liked that saying "hard beats talent when talent doesn't work hard". It's very true.

something that annoys me is everyone likes to say That X player "has so much talent! Such a high ceiling". EVERYONE in the nfl has a bunch of talent. Lol that's why they're there. EVERY qb is a smart guy, you have to be.
none of that matters much if they don't have the intangible variables that you can't measure, it's what makes it so hard to find the right players and top notch qbs. They're rare for a reason.

Or when people try to evaluate the QB position the same way you'd evaluate the WR/CB position. The WR/CB are dependent on size/speed/athleticism etc. having it makes a material difference in someone's performances or potential to perform. The whole "you can't teach size" works for those kind of skill positions because it helps a lot while playing the position.
size/speed help when you're playing qb but it's incremental unless you're a super freak like Lamar/Vick. You really just have to be "good enough". The way you see the game and process it is much more important. You also can't be thinking too much out there. It needs to be instinctual. you can learn anything but that doesn't mean it's natural to you or that you can do it at a high level. Not everyone can just learn how to be a world class scientist or a world class mathematician - it's something in your gene pool that helps you understand it quicker and better than most. Its a little naive to think anyone can be world class at anything they want to be just by Learning something. You can learn anything but doesn't mean you'll be special at it. Lol some people are wired different at things than others, doesn't mean anyone is dumb or useless - just different. We are all different from each other.

i can go learn how to be a carpenter or sculptor - I can probably get really good at it, but be one of the best in the world.? Unlikely lol very unlikely.

I think being able to absorb Kyle's offense as a rookie and then perform - statistically - as well as a 9 year vet is *insane.* As Chris Simms said in his private talks with Kyle, Kyle thinks Purdy is special. Only 8 QB rookies in the NFL history have two playoff wins. One of them is Purdy. Now, having said that, I think Trey can challenge Brock, but he has to bring it because Brock is *good* and will be getting better. This is so exciting, and reminds me so much of Joe vs Steve in the old days.

Rudy? That guy is the poster child for participation trophies. Brock actually has some physical gifts, such as adequate nimbleness, elite arm angle abilities, solid accuracy, quality field vision, very good improvisation, etc. I guess you'll call some of those mental gifts, but to me they aren't things you can really develop that much, so I consider them talents.
Well, my point simply was that Hustle beats talent if talent doesn't hustle. Rudy was just an example of a guy with basically no talent, but tons of hustle was able to walk on and play in a college game and sack a QB. Brock is similar in that he was Mr. Irrelevant but with some hustle and hard work, he got the job done. Yes, he has some gifts that probably can't be taught, for sure. His 2022 stats prove that, but still he was (in my opinion) elite in his work ethics, confidence, and preparation. Contrast that to a guy like Dante Pettis with all world talent, but he would rather put up cat videos than work on his profession.

brock throwing left handed.

Not as well as my right hand, obviously, but efficiently.

mahommes is just incredible. I don't think anyone in the league is in his Caliber. He could retire right now and would be first ballot hall of fame

Agreed. And that pisses me off every time I think about it. He literally fell into our lap. Then we traded out of two and he fell into our lap again.

He's too fragile to be taking hits like this for no reason.

AGree, that's why this draft, I'm desperately hoping ShanaLYnch overloads the offensive line with some great draft talent.

which doesn't mean much. They should be inquiring. I just wonder what "looking into it" even means? You gotta put together a contract to even be in the conversation…

No they didn't, I don't buy that one bit. And why you posting that in the Brock Purdy thread other than maybe try to stir s**t up in here and get a rise outta people.

Claiming they could is meaningless.

Last time he posted news in here that had nothing to do with Brock, he claimed it was because the story was a top article on the webzone and Brock's name was in one of the sentences.

I wonder what his excuse is this time lol maybe he can just admit he's a troll this time around

Where's Charlie? Because I was told where there's smoke there's fire. Clearly Kyle doesn't have faith in Brock Purdy if he's trying to trade for Jackson. /s
