but I get it the eagles put a freaking statue up for Foles after winning 6 games with better stats. He did however not get hurt and actually won a SB…so that makes sense.
like I said this fan base is so thirsty for a good QB. Same s**t happened with Jimmy in 2017. Hope this time it goes better…
You sound upset about Brock's ascent. Just enjoy it for what it is! If he doesn't work out, we'll figure something else out

Hard not to show appreciation for someone who went 8-0, and won two games in the playoffs that also looked the part. How is that "jumping the gun hard?" Especially when there is no one else on the roster worth getting excited about, with the most accomplished from another team?

Not upset at all..I just think it's all a bit premature. We're talking about trading a 22yr old QB after 4 "starts" because of it…Stinks of the Jimmy G situation….Passing on loads of higher end talent because of him.
I need a full season of top end play to make him that guy. That's all.
yeah seems like we're always trying to figure it out lol

I hope you all are right about him, but we all saw the fanatical cult-like following that Jimmy got here after just 5 games and how that ultimately played out. It makes sense to pump the brakes a little, though I'm sure many of you have found ways to internally rationalize how it's different this time.

I agree 100%. Everyone is so quick to praise players and so quick to jump on them if they don't produce right away. What ever happened t letting a young, inexperienced palyer develop before expecting him to be a star. Brock certainly looked good in his time as the starter but it was still only about 1/3 of the season. Calling him a franchise QB at this point is laughable. Even if he comes back and plays well we have seen enough to know he has some deficiencies. He doesn't have a really strong arm and he's not super mobile. He ri=uns bette rthan Jimmy (who doesn't) but he's not going to pick up big yardage with his legs.
He can be good enough to win with but I would hold off on declaring that he's a franchise QB. We've already seen him get injured so we need to see if he's going to be like JG where he plays well in stretches and then gets hurt again.

Brock played eight games and won all of them and played at an extremely high level," Shanahan said

You only count the eagles game and take away the Dolphins game if you want to diminish him

Or I'm going by the official record rather than what just sounds the best.

I wasn't surprised to see the ovation Purdy got at the baseball game last night. The fans remember what he did down the stretch last season and they wish him well in his recovery. Besides, what else do they have to cheer about at Giants games this season.

You're going by what sounds best to you. Thankfully our coach uses common sense

I understand the skepticism about crowning him, he still needs to prove it, and I think Purdy will have some growing pains like everyone does.
with that said, I don't think it's comparable to what Jimmy did. Two very different situations and won in very different ways. At least Purdy played really well in the playoffs (even set some records). Purdy was also playing within Kyles system, Jimmy was here for like a month and was essentially playing backyard ball.
is there a risk here? Of course. I think it's one worth taking though. I believe it's much less risky than forcing Trey in the lineup and hoping he figures the game out sooner than later.
