Adjust to what the defense gives you and then step on their necks in the 2H.

Brock's arm is worse than Brees's was in his last year when he realized his arm wasn't good enough to compete anymore. That's why he's a poor man's Drew Brees. That doesn't mean he can't be good in this system with Kyle Shanahan working around his limitations, but there is a definite cap on how great he can be. He'll never be able to compete against the Mahomes and Josh Allens of the world.

Ring's takes about Purdy are as bad as his takes were about Jimmy.

the boldest above is hilarious.

The throw to Ray Ray McCloud that Kittle intercepted really said a lot to me about his arm strength. There was some really nice zip on that ball that assured me his arm was stronger than the college scouting reports indicated.

You really think there will be an offseason battle for starting QB if Purdy wins the Championship? Which he is poised to now do?

OK.

There will be if only one for the sake of optics. Trey was drafted to be the franchise. He will get a shot at it this offseason vs Brock. That does not mean he will make up any ground there but he will compete just like all of our guys compete and coach will go with the guy he believes gives him the best shot at winning going forward. That is just the way I see it going down because Brock was not drafted number 1 overall and then is playing like he is playing. Because so much was spent on Trey he will compete because they need to see if he can become the Josh Allen or even Jalen Hurts of the future. If he can't beat out Brock this summer he will hold the clipboard and run the scout team just as Brock has

And that will give Trey the chance to practice and hone his skills against what will probably still be a great 49ers defense in 2023.

It has now been documented that Brock's time spent at the Quarterback Collective improved his arm strength from what the college scouts saw to an above-average NFL arm strength. I'll take that.
not a great game by Brock, started seeing more flaws manifest, e.g., two passes batted down and 1 INT, poor 1st half.

that said, he kept his bcb cool and we won handily. 2nd half was much better. had a 114.6 PR. never got flustered. it's good to see the rook win against a tough team.

could he have done it without our dominating D? maybe...

could Jimmy have won that game? i think he would have too.

could Trey have won that game? don't think he's ready.

May go into the record books as an interception, but that interception was not on Brock, it was on Jennings who tipped it to the defender.

Yea. Jennings forgot he wasn't playing volleyball on that play.

Commanders have one of the best d lines in the NFL. Batted passes are going to happen. Also, that INT was on Jennings, not Purdy.

I think the INT was slightly low and behind the receiver, certainly not a perfect pass, but it should have been caught by an NFL caliber receiver.

No NFL QB is going to put the ball between the numbers on every single throw, thus far Purdy has been very accurate, from short to deep throws.

Those were the result of an All-Pro DT doing what he has been doing all season long. Batted passes are on the OL for not forcing the DL to keep their hands down to protect themselves. It isn't always easy but it is what needs to happen if the QB is to have consistent passing lanes.

Yea I definitely thought McGlinchey could have done a better job on the first batted pass. The second it looked like the defender really didn't have anybody on him and was a bit more random.

So is Brock the next mobile Kirk Cousins or Nick Mullens 2.0?
