QB Brock Purdy Thread

Purdy's last 17 full games (first full season as a pro):

300-444 (68% comp.)
3887 yds (228 ypg)
28 TD

4 rushing TD
28 sacks

Compare that to Geno Smith's last 17 games in the same span, who is a veteran pro bowler.

Geno's last 17 full games:

395-583 (68% comp.)
4256 yds (250 ypg)
28 TD
15 INT
5 FUM
0 rushing TD
44 sacks

Watching games live without the hindsight of rewatching the games, it seems to me he is predetermined on who is he going to throw to.

He doesn't seem to be taking what's there. He looks like he's playing fantasy football and trying to force it to "his guys". Seems to be locked on a guy instead of seeing the field. Like on the 1st int yesterday. A: he should have handed it off. B: it looked like he was waiting for CMC instead of throwing to Mitchell a half hour earlier than he did.

Watching live also seems as if we haven't motioned all that much since Deebo was out. I remember confusion with some of the backup WRs in one game. Not sure if I'm not remembering the game right or Kyle cut down/out the motions because of no Deebo. If so, maybe he's not getting his presnap info he's use to.

That said, he has looked solid for 3 quarters each of last two games. The Minnesota game I would chalk up to concussion. This game bad decisions.

i think on his second int yesterday he was forcing to his first read, but i dont think its a theme from his ints we have seen. the first one was a busted handoff and he shouldn't have thrown it period. first one in minn the timing was messed up and the cleveland one the ball just sailed. the rest were desperation throws

did they explain the busted handoff? what happened? why wasn't it handed off?

honestly im just repeating what people have been saying here, either way it was a very flukey play that wouldn't have worked had he floated it properly anyway

Not sure about the concussion, it was the same bad mistakes, when you are trailing you have to throw your way back into it, with no balance, no ground game, D playing the pass, it's not where a KS offense wants to be, concussion or no. My understanding on the MIN concussion, is he wasn't showing any symptoms til the plane. That's KS talking I believe.

We have to see if that action of him clutching his head was another, which would put his availability in question. Have they said anything?
Anyone have video of the pass aiyuk dropped before halftime? I missed it

the stats back it
I hope that we will look back at this time as very important for BP and his development. I hope this will be when Brock had to learn to put the team on his back and win games when everything else isn't going right. Up until this point he has never been in this position in his pro career.

0-2-1 at this, in the last 3

I don't have the video but I did go back and rewatch the play. It looked like he was looking directly into the sun which may have caused him to lose track of the ball. Also, he was falling down toward the ball which account for the ball getting up into his face mask.

I don't know why this has to be said constantly, but when you get a concussion, you don't necessarily have the wherewithal to understand its immediate effects. It's why concussed players have a doctor look at them right away to make that determination and not the player themselves, who are (guess what?) out of sorts.

He's plenty good enough when you look at it over time.
