Try to look at it from another angle. The way I see it is this 2021 squad was never good from the get-go. Likewise, I am very proud of what they managed to achieve as they basically used "heart" to carry them to this point. But, we were never good or good enough, it wasn't as if this team was like the 2019 squad killing it right from the start. In the end, "heart" can only carry you so far.

The Rams have a better roster than us and they are slowly peaking. Simply put, if our roster doesn't improve, it is quite possible they might have turned the tide and start owning the 9ers going forward from this point on. I hope Lance won't bust. But, Lance alone won't get us over the hump. Truth be told, may be we need to look into the Rams' "win now" model. There might be something to it. In fact, we really might have to since we have no 1st round picks for the next 2 years. So, if we don't sign quality free agents, we might not be able to compete or compete at the highest level going forward.

I am already thinking ahead, what if Lance is still not ready come next season? Or if he ends up being a semi-bust? Initially, I was thinking about Tommy, but he has retired. Is definitely something to think about.

This is just not true.

Before the season started this team was a bonafide super bowl contender.

bosa. Warner. Greenlaw. And a strong supporting cast on D.

kittle deebo Trent Williams aiyuk.

they played like trash and then made it seem like this run wasn't in the cards.

Shanahan is a trash HC. It may take others a while to realize this; a lot of us already do tho. And I hope I'm wrong. But I don't think I am.
That early Stafford pass drop that looked to be a fumble scoop and score but called incomplete - was that called incomplete on the field by the refs?

It seems like they let it play out after we ran it in and then called it incomplete. Is that not reviewable since it's a potential turnover and then a score?

As a tv viewer, it seemed awfully rushed to go onto the next down for the rams.

Home field advantage indeed.
Just left the game. The Rams pumped up their sound system extremely loud during the last two Niners drives. That affected the snap.

Yep.

hope nfl investigates

My wife and I noticed that during he game. We just thought that rams fans were being double as loud as niner fans. But we knew that couldn't be right lol

Who cares. They're not gonna reverse the outcome

We are just having a conversation about it. I'm not expecting a reversal of outcome lol

Oh no I just meant about investigating. That part is superfluous. I totally get it. Not surprised. Sorry for the bummer of a game. I was gonna go to

I thought so as well. But dude kindaaaaaa lost control of the ball at the apex of the throw…which I guess is an incomplete pass by definition.

yeah some rules are just slanted to help the offense. he clearly lost control of the ball after the normal release point of a pass. but current nfl gotta try and have shootouts every weekend

And we lost to a team that had better odds than us to win the SB, they were a contender too we want to ignore that they were an ultra talented team that traded for Odell, Ramsey, Stafford, etc. Packers had better odds, equal on some sites but we beat them too. It's tough to win a f**king playoff game let alone a SB.

This organization has been consistent in blowing leads and finding ways to lose in huge situations the last dozen years. It's been torture to get close so many times only to lose and lose ugly when it means the most. I am not one of the people who were content with the results of the season. I always felt they had a great and deep roster. They underachieved in the beginning only to improve to the team I thought they were. In the end, the Rams made the plays and the 49ers played desperate and nervous under pressure. Same results

This times 1000. The 49ers have now become the 90s Bills; they get there and find ways to blow it in excruciating fashion
Aside from the SB vs NY, the Bills were curb-stomped in their other SBs.

Anyone saying kyle is the problem is f**king blind. Kyle got us to the SB and another NFCCG with a f**king limited ass Jimmy G. Dude has been coaching with a handicap every damn season.

His fault for not playing Lance this year.

Hey Im with you on that one.

Had he played Lance this year, we probably wouldn't have made the playoffs

His poise in that Texans game told a different story,...but we'll never know.

Bro it's also tough to win a game when your QB whiffs or doesn't see would be long gains or touchdown passes to Kittle, Juice, and Jennings. But hey - we are here now.
Tart catches that ball and we probably win. f**king hurts man

Agreed. I don't put much blame on Kyle, he doesn't execute the plays. I want to see what he can do with a young QB like Trey and then let everyone burn him at the stake if he fails with that. Until that time, I think he has overachieved with what we've had for the most part. It's rare to see a team this competitive with our level of QB play.

I do acknowledge that we did in fact trade for Jimmy but I think he was a better QB in 2019 before the injury and was still a good trade for us because he made us competitive. He just isn't the type of QB who can make you a contender or feared year in and out. The way the league has trended, you need that.

The old tuck rule decision.

I knew the 49ers were in trouble once the Bucs lost. TBH I expected the 49ers to lose, I just couldn't see two underdogs going into the Super Bowl.

Two things stood out to me.

1. The drive after the kittle td. The defense just let the rams drive down the field. That was a huge killer. And it all started with the taunting penalty.

2. The next drive Jimmy converts some clutch 3rd downs amd we get to the 50. Shanahan calls 3 straight runs and we get to the 42 after juice gets pancaked. Mcvay challenges the fumble and it stands. No timeouts
Shanahan f**king punts instead of going for it. The defense had been getting shredded all day. The rs go down the field and tie it up.

Game was over at that point. There was no running game and the defense sucked. Our identity was stripped.

The defense just straight up looked lost, well at least the secondary did. Ward and K'Wuan had a hard time locating the ball on deep passes. Ambry looked like a rookie, why wasn't he getting Safety help?? Jimmy played pretty well up to the last few minutes of the game at least so yes, he's to blame too and he knows it. I won't blame Tartt on that dropped INT, it would've helped but I just look at it as a pass defense. Moseley and Thomas oh man, I'm wrong again, they NEED to go out and get a solid CB.

Would've loved to get a little help by the refs, they did miss a couple holding calls that could've helped. JMO
