Get it? RUN THE BALL.

Webzone response: But you gotta roll out Trey!!!

Yeah cause we are gonna run the ball 65 times against the Rams. Even if your gameplan is running you still need to throw the ball a bit. One is not exclusive to the other.

I just wish that Shanny doesn´t go back to Jimmy next week.

Ive been asking for more roll outs since Kyle has been here. Dont know why he doesnt like to use them.

As I understand it, rollouts and bootlegs can cut the field in half, but there are some plays (like the TD to Deebo) where the throw is to the opposite side of the field.

The Deebo TD, particularly, was a PA shot play that either had Deebo deep as an option, I think Travis Benjamin as a checkdown, and then a Trey run as another option. It's really just a one-read throw and Shanahan needs a certain look to go after it.

That play design is perfect for Trey due to his arm strength and his ability to run. I hope we see more of it.
Can't have a whole half like that 1st half against the Rams. Trey needs to start out a little faster. I think some movement from the pocket early. Get him moving and throwing. He seemed to be more comfortable from that point on.

The gameplan against the Texans was simple. We mostly ran the ball on 1st and 2nd down in the first half. We actually did have a number of 3rd and manageables, where we tried to run it with a conventional run or a designed QB run. I see the logic in it, but the Texans, like the Cardinals did in Week 5, prioritized stopping that gameplan.

So in the second half, Shanahan abandoned the QB runs and threw a little more, and to Trey's credit, he was attempting passes throughout the field. The running game was a lot more effective once that happened.

I see Shanahan drawn up these really nice QB run plays, but I think he's finding out that he needs Trey to make the defense respect his arm a little more before he can sprinkle those in some more.
Glad we got the win. Seemed dim all through the 1st half.
Trey started off a bit slow which is understandable. Threw a pick early? Yes. However Trey lance completed almost 70% of his passes for 10.8 yards per attempt and threw 2 TD's and helped us get the W. The future is bright.

I'm about to write something that i never thought i would..........Donte Johnson played pretty well once he got in there. He seems decent in the slot but less effective on the outside. We really need to ditch Norman next season.....that guy is a penalty waiting to happen!!!!

Dontae is horrid in the slot imo.

Yes! Without that holding penalty on Aiyuk, he rushed for another TD. Future is bright indeed. Just hope next week bs LA he lets Trey play this way from opening whistle.
I'm happy they won. I was expecting a win. The texans suck, and dont let their win against the chargers fool you, they're one of the worst defenses in the league.

im not going to forget the crap that i witnessed in tje first half after a win. It was by far a perfect game.

If trey can bring us home a win against the rams on the road I'll be extremely impressed.

Back to the game, Trey played worse than I expected in the first half and better than I expected in the 2nd half, which is a positive.

Yeah, it'll be interesting if Trey starts against the Rams, who are a middle of the road defense in terms of scoring and yardage... but feature their own set of problems (i.e. Aaron Donald).

This didn't age well.

Nor did all your other posts. And about 1,000 from others as well in this thread.

A win against the Texans proves nothing especially when the defense holds to 7 points. Mac Jones just put 50 on the jags and everyone knows that means s**t. Brag when they beat the rams next week.
