Im sorry, but whose fault is the roster ? Kyle has built his roster himself, including the QBs.
Again, Kyle barring a miracle, will have 1 winning season out of 5. That's the facts. The 49ers wont have their first round picks next two years. Also facts. Whose fault is that they lack picks and have roster full of draft pick busts ? No, it is not John Lynch's fault, as he is a figurehead.
Do you really think anyone else but Kyle is responsible for taking Aaron Banks or Trey Sermon ? Or Pettis ? Or Lance ?
The Rams also don't have picks. Yet they are playing well and McVay has never had a losing season. They had the same number of superbowls reached as Kyle had. And they played in 3 more playoffs.
At the end of the day, coaches are judged on how good the teams are, their record and product on the field. Aside from one year where all stars aligned and Bosa/Ford provided an amazing boost for the D, all seasons have otherwise been turd of a product on the field.
The wins 49ers have this season are against the winless lions, the 3-6 eagles and 3-5 bears. And instead of at least trying to bring up the QB Kyle gave up a king's ransom for, they want to continue to play with a QB who's a lame duck and they are still losing.
There is no direction and no leadership at this point. I'm sorry, McVays job security is because he wins games, has roster of players and yeah, you can say his players dont get injured- but again, its up to the coach to build his roster. Kyle built his. Why is anyone else to blame but him ? The offensive product is putrid and they have blue chip players on offense.
People rag on oline, but the starting oline are in fact, 4 first round picks and the only non-first round pick UFA cannot be beaten out by a Guard Kyle reached for.
How many more years does Kyle get ? If Lance busts, he is gone. Also depends on which coaches are interested taking a dysfunctional team with a rookie QB project and no first round draft picks.
Realistically, they might not fire Kyle until they have first round picks back. But I wouldnt get mad them saying hes on the hot seat. Because after this year, he should be.
