Or not throw a fastball from three yards out. The best QB's learn how to adjust their velocity depending on the situation. That's one of Lance's biggest weaknesses, everything is a rocket right now. He'll get there.

Not giving defenses the time to react to your throws around the goal line is a good thing.
He probably wants Lance to have more reps with the 1's so guys can get more used to his ball.
