We always worry about games like this, which is warranted for how bad our team was last year. But seriously, outside of a massive Covid outbreak, this should be a W. I would say the same thing if the Chiefs or Bucs were playing them. Outside of an act of God, it would be a W.

By the 3rd quarter this should be our 4th preseason game with Trey and the 2nd stringers mopping up. I want to see Jimmy, Bosa, Kittle and Ford on the sideline joking with ball caps on.

If this is anything short of a blow-out, I'll question this team's prospects this season.

I agree that the Niners should win this game but they can't get over confident. It's the first game of the year and it's on the road. Most of the regulars haven't played much. Early season games are total unknowns and why I would never bet on one.

Bosa and Ford are probably laughing even as I write this...

Cory Undlin, 49ers defensive passing game specialist, was the Lions' DC last season. He can give some tips on the Lions player personnel and hints about players' strengths and weaknesses.

Would love it to be an early blowout. More game time experience for Trey.

That game was closer on the scoreboard than it was in reality. They never really threatened us after the first half. TB was a pretty decent team too, much better than the Lions who are going through a major rebuild. The Lions are the Jim Tomsula 49ers without the talent. At least Tomsula was able to win a few games due to the talent mismatch, but the Lions aren't beating anyone on talent alone.

Yeah, the 49ers would have won this game last year, after all the injuries.
