Lol there are tons of teams that would love to have Jimmy. If not for him being able to win games, his Jersey and merchandise sales alone are worth it.

Jimmy is at worst a top 15 QB when healthy. He does all the important stuff right and can lead any organization to some W's. He's talented. He just not an all time great, that's all. He should be starting in this league.

Top 15?. That seems a little too high for someone who's had one decent year throughout his entire career.

Better than anyone else we've had since 2002. So I enjoy his play and especially the W's. We don't seem to get them with any of the other QBs.

Regardless, Trey is going to be special!

Yes, I agree with that. Good times ahead.

Past Injuries and the fact he Only has one decent year under his belt at This point In his career Is probably why no one was willing to offer anything more... That's why we seriously need him to stay healthy and have a productive season so we can trade him for something worthwhile.

This will be his last year here regardless. Either a trade or an outright release.

Never forget there was some bumass team who traded a first for Sam Bradford, who was even more injury prone and trash
2022 market for Jimmy could involve Houston, Denver, Carolina and Giants.
The 2022 QB class looks as weak as 2019.

If you start from the top teams down i think jimmy can win for a lot of them

The bottom teams, any QB will struggle.. heck we were a bottom team when jimmy came along. Even beat two playoff teams late in the season who were fighting for playoff seeding like the Jags (who had a shot a #2 w/some help)

but all of this QB that QB is fantasy. We have jimmy and trey. One QB that isn't a highlight reel but can get it done. Then we got the future who's checking all the boxes do far.

Our prayers have been answered on getting a future star who has potential to give us better QB. It's time to sit back and enjoy

I don't think we were such a bad team though…we were losing games by 3 points or less with a horrible Brian Hoyer.

yes it's all fantasy & subjective 90% of the crap in here is…we all have our takes on this stuff

You called Jimmy G James. And that's what Grant does.

Top 15 in what exactly?

stats, yes he's not a stat god. but our coach isn't a pass happy coach also.

Top 15 as in you'd objectively take him over 17 other starters. It appears that a large group of GMs and coaches disagree.

Wasn't there like 60+% turnover in players that year? If not a lot more?

i can vouch for NY wanting Jimmy... we used to go back and forth. He was passionate for Jimmy as he was Trey.

I didn't want jimmy, but we have'em he won me over early.. now i just want the most experiece guy out there and hope for the best

I actually wanted Jimmy and McDaniels 😬 oops
i see a trend here.. Trey better start praying

You're discrediting Jimmy with this and you know it.

Jimmy came in to a new system/locker room mid season. He also didn't have Pierre Garcon who was our best WR that season by the time he got his first start and was missing Trent Brown. He was also got to play against the Jags D that was embarrassing QBs that season. I remember telling people to pump their breaks with Jimmy until that game because of just how scary good that defense was.

I know you've seen the chart from that season. We were averaging 26.6 Yards per drive without Jimmy(Chicago was worst with 25.6 YPD that season). We averaged 42.1 yards per drive with Jimmy(which would've averaged to NFL best. Pats led the nfl with 39.2 YPD)

That was with Louis Murphy being the most tenured WR to throw to.

We know Jimmy has limitations. We know Kyle's offense offers up some great opportunities whoever the QB is. We know all of that. But that doesn't diminish what the guy actually did. If you want to play hypotheticals and assume all these other QBs would've done just as well that's fine but that's an assumption we cannot prove.

Jimmy is limited. Jimmy is getting replaced. That's why we have Trey Lance. Trey is good enough where he doesn't need us to downplay what Jimmy did. His performance will stand on its own. What you're basically doing is setting up reasons why others can diminish Trey's performance.

Or are we going to say that the wide open looks Trey gets or the shovel passes to Deebo that go for 20 or easy TDs are all because of Trey's great talent?

That's my whole point. Let Trey stand on his own. Him beating the best Jimmy G is great. Him getting the job handed to him because Jimmy G is just average isn't as good.

Nice post 49! I don't think many people realize we did have the worst roster in the NFL if not one of the worst when Jimmy came in more than halfway through the year and he did so much with so little it was amazing. He hasn't played as well since which sucks but at least people should be willing to admit that hardly any other quarterback could beat teams down with no talent like Jimmy did against the Jaguars that was embarrassing.

He had the Jaguars defense fighting with each other on the sidelines. Yeah a lot of other quarterbacks could've done that. My ass.

The reality is Trey Lance is going to be a top 10 quarterback in my opinion maybe closer to top five very soon. At least by next year. That's all we need to win multiple Super Bowls. We are going to have Bosa, Warner and Company so I think we will have at least a good enough defense to match our top three offense going forward. It's going to be some good years ahead of us

32 starters is he top 15 out of those…for me I have him below that, maybe like 17th or so.
