Just weighing in, I got a phone alert Friday afternoon on this but forgot all about the entire thing like 2 hours later lol. Seems to me he kind of just got caught up in a bunch of nonsense during a traffic stop but he wasn't trying to evade arrest or anything else like that. He probably got kind of panicked and started doing something out of his normal character. But not intending to not cooperate with officers, I don't think.

Fair assessment, and close to the report I read:
49ers Cornerback Deommodore Lenoir arrested in L.A. on misdemeanor obstruction charges, and released

Frankly, he was trying to be a bro to his friend. This is a nothing burger IMO.

I don't know that it's that serious what they are describing. But it's bad to interfere with a police investigation.
Much worse is hanging out with guys with guns on the street corner in Los Angeles. In the middle of the night or morning as the case may be. What is he doing? This can only lead to trouble. Is he hanging out with gang members in his free time? This can lead to injury, death or problems with the law. I'm much more concerned about that aspect. It shows awful lack of judgement and decision making. Probably guys he grew up with. But running with the wrong crowd in the offseason could get him killed or hurt. It's just such a bad idea. What's going on in his mind?

People with guns are not necessarily "gang members" or the "wrong crowd", also it's entirely possible he didn't know the guy had a gun in his car. There are some friends I have that I know have guns in their car, but the ones I don't know could have guns or not. Also, I wouldn't know if the guns I know about are illegal. Was the gun in question illegal? Was Demo even in the car with the gun? From the description I saw he wasn't.
Pretty hard to blame Demo for anything other than pushing back against a cops orders.

Pretty sure he tossed his keys and not the gun lol.
The whole thing is dumb. Just glad it wasn't a DUI or something worse...something actually concerning other than a gun in a car and keys lol

Lot's of athletes grew up with guys that are in gangs. People don't forget their friends Maybe thus guy was a gang memeber and maybe he wasn't. If he was an old friend there's no reason to not talk to him.
I had a friend that I played little league ball with. I ran into him in later years and he was a Hells Angel. We still greeted each other as old friends.

You don't want to be hanging out with gangs and guys with guns at 5:00 am on the street corner in Los Angeles in a tough neighborhood. You can say hi to your friend. That's different. The problem is not as lite as you guys are claiming. It's horrific judgement on his part and could lead to trouble down the line. You can even get hurt or killed in that scenario. Certainly not something he should be doing as an NFL player with a huge contract deal. He needs better decision making and choices in life. Based on his current situation. Not how he grew up.

Regardless, being a high profile sports guy and being in LA in this climate is risky.

The story says it was 5:30 pm not 5:00 am. He was booked at 9:40 pm and released at 1:18 am. We have no idea how long he was stopped there. The story says the police saw the double parked cars so they stopped. Kind of sounds like he saw someone he knew and stopped to say hello. No indication of how long he was stopped there.
I agree that pro players shouldn't be hanging around the wrong people but we don't know anything about this other guy yet. Just because he had a gun in the car doesn't mean he's a gang member. In any case it's not easy to say goodbye to old friends if that's what this guy was.

I worked at The Hog Farm for a while, bikers are nice guys ... unless they aren't.
I have an old friend who did 4 years after going on a cross country bank robbing spree. He's still the same guy. Drugs are bad.

My friend that I mentioned ended up in prison. He was arrested for trying to plant a bomb in an ATF agent's car. I think he got 20 years. I have another friend that I went all through school with. Lived right around the corner. Never a close friend but we knew each other well. He's in San Quentin on death row. He was convicted of hiring 2 people to kill his business partner. We all lived ina nice quiet suburban community; not some inner city violent area.
You never know how people will turn out but it doesn't change the fact that you were once friends. I'm sure more details will come out about thus incident but it doesn't look serious.
