Maybe he stopped to talk to an old friend. He grew up there. How would he know the guy had a gun in his car? Most people don't ask if you have a gun when they stop to talk to a friend.
Matt Maiocco said he talked to a lawyer and this is most likely going to be a fine and nothing more based on the evidence that's been released.

i don't equate it to a speeding ticket. a speeding ticket is a moving violation, and an infraction. not a misdemeanor. you can get a speeding ticket, and get your citation, and drive off on your way. here he was arrested. how often have you been arrested? have you ever been arrested?
