Now we got the offers coming to us which is perfect. Just need one team to make the same mistake Kyle did and pay too much for Treys "upside"

Guess no mention of the fact that they're not the ones calling? But yes they sent out a bat signal to get other teams to call...
If you want to make it clear a player is available, you answer questions the way John and Kyle did. Other teams got the same message I did. Sorry if you missed the bat signal, but we called right away

Yet when asked about the possibility of trading Trey you didn't get that same conviction Not even close.
Their comments and timing just screams to me they're letting everyone know he's available.
Announces Brock the starter for no reason then doesn't completely deny wanting to trade Trey. Basically screaming for offers

Screening offers if you don't think Trey is your future at the position is 100% smart business. Trading him for peanuts is another story.
If the 49ers do what's totally irrational to me and trade Lance only to use one of our early picks on DTR I'd be absolutely livid and super concerned about the direction of this team and we all better come together in one big prayer circle and hope Brock Purdy is 100% healthy and a stud for the next 15+ years.
I don't have an issue with DTR but what would bother me the most is how awful our evaluation was of Trey given the move to get him. You make such a huge move and you give up on him after only 4 starts and you move him with so much uncertainty in the QB room and replace him with a guy with similar skillsets but just more college experience but another complete unknown in the NFL.
Would just blow my mind and should scare the hell out of people.

One of the worst QBs over the last 5 years still gives them a better chance to win games than Lance.
Lol at you thinking you know more than the NFL media on what is going on. You just don't want it to happen

If I were you id just accept that Trey sucked and wasn't part of the formula of trying to win a championship in the next couple years. There's no reason to bash the guys that saw him everyday over Trey not being good enough.
If he somehow turns it around somewhere else, oh well. Forcing his development here just isn't feasible and that's what I've been trying to tell you guys all offseason
Edit: I do agree with you that the trade was dumb, but remember the trade wasn't for Trey, it was to have the ability choose between the QBs after Trevor and Zach

Dude don't you get it! We're trying to win a Super Bowl….we go through QBs like Jimmy does pornstars and getting rid of a young QB makes SO MUCH sense lol derp

***Breaking News****
Niners Fielding Calls on Trey Lance
With the NFL Draft next week, could a recent No. 3 overall pick be on the move?
The possibility is apparently arising with 49ers quarterback Trey Lance.
According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, San Francisco has been fielding calls about a potential trade for Lance. Rapoport's Wednesday morning reporting does not mention any teams with interest and notes no trade is imminent. But with the 49ers making it clear that Brock Purdy is likely the club's starter when he's healthy, teams have inquired about Lance.
Both head coach Kyle Shanahan and General Manager John Lynch said at the annual league meeting last month that the 49ers would listen to a potential deal for anyone. But that doesn't mean they would be inclined to make a trade.
While the 49ers made a blockbuster trade to move up to No. 3 overall in 2021, Lance has not played much for the club. Jimmy Garoppolo remained the starter when Lance was a rookie. And while Lance took over as QB1 heading into the 2022 season, he suffered a broken ankle in Week Two and missed the rest of the season.
Purdy took over at quarterback after Garoppolo suffered a season-ending foot injury and is now the incumbent starter.
Purdy's rehab from elbow surgery has been going well, with the quarterback saying last week that everything is going as planned. That could allow the 49ers some flexibility when it comes to potentially trading Lance.
San Francisco also signed Sam Darnold for depth at QB.
Lance has appeared in eight games with four starts over his young career. He's completed 55 percent of his passes for 797 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions. He's also rushed for 54 yards with a TD.
***Discuss, this could happen before the draft.***

I think you hit the nail on the head. DTR has similar skillset and more experience. Just because Trey was billed to be the next great thing doesn't mean he's going to be. The fact that DTR is more experience he's essentially already ahead of where Trey is now as we speak.
DTR only 6 months older than Trey. He's cheaper. We'd have him 2 years longer (assuming SF wouldn't use 5th year option on a backup QB.) And again same skillset with more experience.
It's funny, some said the same thing about the front office for making that move in the 1st place. Yet most was blinded by the potential to see how bad of a move it was. Yet I read some of you criticize them for giving up "too early" but those who criticized the move from the beginning weren't real fans.
Sounds like some of you are no longer "real fans"

Lol according to who?
The media knows more about what? No one is saying teams aren't reaching out to see if Lance is available…no I don't want to lose a young QB for nothing. You living under a rock the past decade? We go through QBs like water

Lol talk about jumping to conclusions because you want to be right so bad….no s**t teams are reaching out to see if Lance is available. I thought he sucked and no team would want him??
reaching out to see if someone is available vs the team trying to actively move him are vastly different things…but you know that doesn't fit the narrative.

Why would you think that? He's only played 1 game. A must win game versus HOU that he won. While W/L typically isn't a QB stat it just so happened to be one that day.
So not factoring in his bad games and only counting his good quarter and a half there is no reason for you to think he sucked.

The #49ers have received inquiries from several teams looking into a potential trade for former No. 3 pick QB Trey Lance.
