That doesn't answer the question... The poster asked if I've ever "heard of walking and chewing gum". Ok if you want to chew gum(throw deep)you need a stick of gum(deep threat) in order to do it. Something we didn't have last year and have yet to persue this year. Actually no it wasn't. His take was that Mac Jones benefitted from talent, that his stats were mostly from YAC vs Fields who only benefitted from 33%. If Fields were to play in a system where he was able to benefit more from YAC, similar to Jones, then his stats would be far better than they are now.

Actually it does as Kyle's offense is based on YAC. The rest is speculation while YAC are pure fact. One guy has shown that he can put the ball where it needs to be for guys like Aiyuk, Debo, and Kittle, the other has shown he hasn't been asked to.

Watch the first few minutes of the tweet above. Just because our fans don't want him because he's not mobile and exciting doesn't mean he's not a good QB. He fits exactly what Shanny likes in guys like Jimmy, Kirk, Nick, Sudfield, Hoyer and every SINGLE other QB he's brought in. Every single one.

Im not sure how you aren't getting this. Go watch Mac Jones highlights. Just the highlights, not actual game footage, and you will see a few reoccurring themes. A: he has ALL freaking day to throw on most of those highlights B: his WR's have LOTS of room between them and their opponent. When WR's have LOTS of room between them and their less talented opponent it makes it easy to accumulate YAC stats which is why the YAC is a detriment to Jones in that comparison. In other words it's easy to hit WIDE open WR's who run for all kinds of yards/td's. Understanding yet?

It's called scheming. Something Kyle(and Sarkisian) does an absolute fantastic job of doing. Now put in a QB that is mobile and may or may not use his legs and unscheme Kyle's offense. Kyle is no longer in control thus his offense isn't being ran the way he wants it to. His offense, the offense that runs and gets the ball into playmakers hands for YAC.

It makes absolute perfect sense why he likes a guy that has shown he can put the ball where it needs for his playmakers, the guys he drafted STRICTLY for YAC, to get those yards.

I hate being a jerk but I swear our fans don't actually pay attention to what Kyle likes to do. If he wanted a mobile QB he would've gotten one but instead who does he get? Sudfield, Nick Mullens, Jimmy, f**king Cousins, he supposedly made a play for Stafford. Quit hating me for pointing out common sense. There's a legit reason all the rumors and even Vegas are calling Mac to the 49ers. Don't blame me, I'm just pointing out the obvious reasons. Very obvious reasons.

what if the Jets show up to these pro days and they fall in love with one of these guys? I think some of you guys are on to something. if we settled on Mac theres no reason to attend these, no one is gonna jump us and not take Wilson or Lawrence

Many, many experts side with me and I know Vegas isn't the end all but he is the favorite for a reason. There's obvious reasons why Macs name is being floated around. I understand most don't want Mac, I myself think spending 2 first rounders on a guy that may have been there at 12 is ridiculous, but I also see how he is a good fir for a Shanny offense that revolves around good ball placement to allow YAC. Shanny denies it but WCO concepts are in his blood.

WCO thrives with mobility at the qb position. I'm not a Mac hater and will be on board with the pick if he's it. But I don't think he will be. All arrows point to Fields imo.

49ers must already have known what the Jets are doing at 2 OR know with high degree of certainty who the Jets are not picking, Jones for example. If they really wanted Fields and didnt who know the Jets were taking ..would they have still made this move.? Same for wilson?

At the time the trade was made, Wilson to the Jets was not a certainty.

I think they are targeting one guy only and they are pretty confident the guy they want wont go 2.

If the 49ers are targeting Jones or Lance, it pretty safe to say that the Jets won't be changing their minds to draft either one. These two guys they know will be at 3.

If Jets change their mind it would be for Fields.

1) 49ers will take Jones or Lance at 3 OR
2) There will be a surprise draft day trade to 2 with Jets OR
3) 49ers will swap picks with Atlanta who take Fields and take 49ers take Jones or Lance

Remember they were trying to trade up into the top 5.

They knew Jones or Lance would be there at 5.

True Kyle loves to scheme. Why would he not love to have a guy who can do everything mac can do, but better, AND has the ability to run? That slows down the defense and makes it even easier for him to get guys open, or even run the ball in the redzone.

Unscheme? So you think because a guy can run means he wont follow the coaches play? What happens when our O line gets beat and the play breaks down? Mac is getting sacked where as a more mobile guy can keep the play alive and make something happen.

Having a QB with the ability to run will make defenders hesitate and give our guys an easier time getting open to make plays after the catch. Also it would make defenders hold contain, making our run game more lethal and Shanny loves the run game.

Either Fields or lance can get the ball where it needs to be and they both have stronger arms so the ball can get there faster, yet they can also put some touch on the ball when needed.

Who hase been available that is mobile recently? There was reported intrest in watson before the legal issues. The niners have Josh Johnson on roster at the moment. Besides passing on Mahome and watson in his first draft he has bot had the opportunity to get a mobile guy.

Is it common sense? Or just your opinions? The rumors are because it is a slow time in sports world and ESPN and CBS and NBC need click bait. No one actually knows what KS and JL actually think except them. And vegas just follows trends.

I understand why people think KS would be interested as well but it just seems like lazy comparisons are being made for Mac right now. Like cousins and Brady. He isnt even in either of those guys league. If he reminds me of anyone it is Mark Sanchez. A one year guy who took over a great team and had a solid season. There is nothing that jumps out about big Macs game. He is not the kind of guy you invest three first rounders into IMO.

I personally have felt Fields is the guy since the trade happened. I will continue to belive that until/if someone elses name is called draft day.

I wonder if Shanny knows how Mike LaFleur thinks to the point that he knows LaFleur himself is torn between Wilson and Mac Jones. And Shanny is hyping up Jones to bait the Jets into taking him at 2.

I'll eat a shoe if the Jets take Mac at #2. It's not happening.

It's Lawrence at 1, Wilson at 2 and we have to hope Kyle/Lynch aren't buffoons and that they correctly pick Fields at 3.

I'm still so bummed. The moment this trade happened I was so ecstatic that we locked in one of Wilson/Fields. No disrespect to Mac but I wish he wasn't even on the radar right now
