14 catches for Hopkins. With no pre-season you have to lean on certain things. Kyle run, Hopkins catch. That was their entire game Plan and it was the right one.

We looked to be doing something similar early with Mostert and Kittle but it fell once that punt block happened and then Kittle got injured.

AZ are always a tough match, and getting them week one with a lot of disruptions was always going to cause problems.

Spot on

No, the problem is way deeper than just WRs alone. What I saw today, the issues included Jimmy G, O-line and most notably D-line. Where is our top defense? It looked to me the Cards won the trenches on both sides of the ball.

Im telling you no pre season all rust i promise we will look better after this wake up call. One good thing we sucked bad today but still had a chance to win at the end.

so we ok if we asked for a cheeseburger but got it with no cheese and enjoyed it anyway

well we better look good against the Jets and Giants, thats for damn sure. Otherwise, I'll start getting serious about my Trevor Lawrence talk.

Yea well if we want to win a super bowl we need the qb to make plays , and we don't have a fancy play making qb which sucks, mahomes and Kyler and duel threat, we can get away beating scrubs but what's the point once we face a legit team or fail at super bowls it means nothing

Pathetic. JG was garbage. He took too many sacks. Constantly stared down his first read. Was inaccurate and didn't throw with anticipation.

Coverage and tackling were trash. Saleh can't keep a lead as usual. Ford did nothing unless I missed something.

Might not make the playoffs.

Overall, I felt like the team weren't ready to play.

Right off the bat, we were losing the battle of the trenches on both sides of the ball. The O-line was very so so. However, the D-line was worse, practically missing in action. I thought may be after last season Saleh would learn how to stop Kyler Murray. Where was the spy? Nothing.

Last year even when Jimmy G was starting slow after his ACL, the rest of the team was still great which made it possible for us to win so many games even before we got things going. Today's performance was just sloppy and the players lacked heart. The Cards wanted this game more than us. I guess we just expected the game to be handed to us just because we went to the Super Bowl last year.

This is a huge wake-up call, if we can't turn things around immediately, yes I think we could miss the playoffs. Did you watch the Seahawks game today? They played way better than us.

Playing Atlanta helps...

Granted Atlanta beat us, but still, I see the Cards as a tougher match up, considering they already stopped our running game both times last year and we are missing our top two wideouts. You know, that kind of..affect things lol. Yes, Aiyuk is a rookie, but the way the staff was talking, it looks like Aiyuk was easily the starter.

Jimmy G was missing throws anyway. Our WR corps is just garbage. How can you throw an end zone jump ball using a 5'7" Trent Taylor is beyond me.

Either way, our issues is way more than just WRs, that is apparent.

Wow haven't heard a peep form you until today lol...weird

Yeah great, 2 more people for Jimmy to over throw and possibly get killed. He is holding us back more than helping. Shanahan deserves some blame as well though, just like in the SB. Why abandon a run game that works and trust this guy with the game on the line when he has shown he doesn't deserve that trust.
Niners D improved vs cards from last year (allowed 25 and 26 last year) and had more picks in this game than 2 games last year combined so.... It wasn't the D alone

They didn't lose because of not having buck. SF played a horrible game overall...AZ played one of their best games AND it was still a 4 pt game with SF having a chance to win it at the end.
