I struggle a bit w/how to value JJ and have a mixed reaction when I read people saying "he's not worth $15M", or "he's learning what his market value is." Is it $12M, $15M, $20M? I don't know. What I do know, however, is he was a whiff in blocking assignment (which would have resulted in a TD instead of a FG) and a Mahomes' 4th down save in OT from being a SB MVP. And not one of those fluffy ones either, but a legit "yep. deserved." Take that into account with how tenacious of a run-blocker he is and I believe he has a lot more value to us than some people credit him with just because they can't box him in as a #1 (or #2 even, which I do agree with). I leave it to the tape-watchers to opine on this, but we saw how crappy our run-game is w/o Kittle. Does it get x times more worse w/o JJ once CMC hits the edges? Not saying I have an answer, just cautious not to value him solely in a siloed view of "he's not a #1, so should be paid like a #3."

Google the terms "Raiders" and "Jennings" and you will be treated to three plus pages of news reports stretching back to 2024 that have JJ going to the Raiders. The latest news report I read just today has JJ linked to the Redskins. Bottom line? If either team wanted him, he's been there for the taking. Nobody's biting.
He's either asking for too much coin, or there's a "red flag" warning on him. What that might be, I have no idea. This is all speculation.

ESPN just ranked the qualtiy of the remaining FAs. JJ was 3rd overall, just behind Kyler Murray.

JJ would be an excellent reciever for a young mendoza. Mendoza throws a great back shoulder, IMO. JJ is tough and will help in the run game. I'd hate to see it but I think it would be a great landing spot.

I think it's probably a few things. JJ isn't "young" and is trying to get his first big pay day. he wants to get paid like a #1 but I don't see him as a #1. I think he's an excellent #2. Excellent run blocker. Excellent locker room guy. He's an awesome player to have but not as your 1. he just doesn't have a vast enough skill set to be a #1. he needs a guy like Aiyuk/Evans adjacent him to really open his game up and give him ops.
Just my opinion. I'd love to keep him but i've come to terms that we most likely wont and i understand why. I hope someone pays him a lot of money and him and his family are set for life.

if Jauan doesn't get his big pay day with a team, any chance that the Bucs sign Jennings to replace Evans? maybe a 2-3 year deal, before they have to give a big contract to Emeka Egbuka.

They should be feeling pretty good about Jalen McMillan and Tez Johnson as well.

Feels like it.
Teams might also be wary about paying for someone who looked good with Kyle but not quite hit the mark with them.
Deebo didn't exactly light things up away from us either.
Perception matters, and can be fickle.

Deebo had a good season last year in Washington

He had a decent season, but not the type that moves the needle or make another team rush out to get him, especially at the price he was on.

JJ may as well come on home
