I think #2 is his ceiling. Calling him.a 3 is a little insulting. Based on what he has done, he appears to be good to 800 - 1000 yards if starting with a lot of clutch play. Do you think there are 64 receivers better than Jennings?
< Teddy KGB voice> Pay heem. Pay dees maan his money.
Let him walk. Bring in Alec Pierce instead and Tutu Atwell.

Both would be cheaper and have actual upside.

That first pic 6 was a zero effort play from juan to fight for the ball. It would have been a completion or incompletion at worst if he was faster getting out of his cut or fought for the ball.

Alec and Tutu behind pearsall and you actually have something there for purdy to throw to.
LET IT BE KNOWN

Is there any reason the Colts and Rams let them walk? I'd love both but Im also curious as to what Jennings can get on the open market. I think he is a good low end #2 receiver that brings some intangibles. But he also has a top 5 QB and playcaller. Outside of going to the Chiefs, Rams, or Bears, I can't see Jennings being what he has been here. In my perfect world we'd somehow keep Jennings and get Pierce. I think being free if Aiyuk opens up A LOT especially if the 49ers are able to recover even more money and cap space.

It would be great going into the draft not needing to address receiver.
What are your thoughts on a 4-year, $70M contract for Jauan?

Seems fair right now, but what's wild is that wasn't the number 15 million this offseason? We gotta start buying early lol. I get why it's higher now, but the 49ers were living in a different world at the time with who they thought they would have in the receiver room. I'm wondering what they think of the receiving room excluding Jennings. Thinking of Jennings, he is all in for the team, plays hard, competes, gives us a an edge on offense, blocks his ass off, etc. We also have two young guys who can't buy playing time. So without Jennings, it's not looking too good. With him, if you add just one more speed guy, we really have a group.

Going forward, my hope is that Pearsall can stay healthy enough to be a clear 1, Jennings is the 2, Watkins and Cowing emerge as strong 3rd and 4th receivers, and we'd still have Robinson and possibly Bourne. With Aiyuk's salary gone, they probably can pull this off.

Yep we can survive with that considering we also have Kittle, CMC, and Tonges as very good Receiving threats.

Tutu was hurt most of the year. When he did play he made some clutch catches. I think he mostly fell down the depth chart with davante on board and the injury. There were a few rams pundits saying he needs the ball a lot more. He's been good when targeted.

The colts just paid that other dude who is similar to pierce in size. I think they already said they are not going to pay pierce.

Both would be good. They just need the targets. They were both high picks also and don't have the same limitations as jennings does.

They were both in that sort of not sure if it's worth paying 10-12 million a year for 600-700 yards best seasons they have produced. So both teams will end up letting them walk.

You gotta remember the 49ers had already cut Aiyuks guarantees. They like Jennings but hopefully the days of being strong armed by players is over.
The 49ers paid Brock because they believe he can turn lemons into lemonade at WR just like Brady did. The money is best spent on defensive players as well as high draft picks. With Brock and Shanahan we don't have to spend too highly on offensive players unless it's a sure thing

Exactly! I was hoping they'd sign him at 15 per this offseason. To me it was a no brainer. Easiest decision between the 3 WRs.

Right now, teams are bracketing CMac out of the backfield.
JJ hasn't seen a double team or rolled coverage since he's been here, not even on third down or in the red zone.
He's a #3 like Bourne.
Will suck to let him walk but he's replaceable.

Agreed. He plays hard, didn't hold out, and is indicative of the culture you want to build.

Pierce is gonna get paid more than you think if he hits FA. Back to back 800+ yard seasons avg over 20 Y/R the past two seasons.

IMO he will cost the same as JJ
