Internet reports they offered him 3 years for $48 million. $16 million a year. To extend. But he wants a one year prove it deal for the increase in incentives. He wants to hit free agency where he probably can make more money.

As far as I can see, that report originates here:

Definitely would need corroboration from a more credible source IMO.

There are also reports that the 49ers are currently still in talks for a multi year deal with him.

3 years * $16 million per = $48 million.

Do it.

Honestly he will get more in free agency. Some people will be surprised. First he has at least 3 good years left. Second he's better than people believe on here. Third that's a great deal with the increases in salary cap. Probably like what $8 million per year used to be. The cap has increased huge over years of time and still going up. It's honestly not that bad. He's worth that and we can afford it. But he probably won't. Because he wants to hit free agency. Which I don't blame him for.

Right, if he balls out at the beginning of this year, 9ers may just give him is $20m/yr rather than losing him. Jauan made a good bet on himself. I hope he has another season like last season.
Apparently his hair is color blue now. If he balls out again this year, stays healthy and goes into FA, he could definitely get offered more cash and Niners may or may not match... no doubt he will color his hair green once he gets the bag
I say that was a very good offer for a guy who would be the 3rd option once everyone is healthy. Let the guy go get his 💰 💸 next year & take our pick
There's no guarantee ricky takes his spot . I'm confident but we'll see.

I went as far as 3 years $45M with $20M guaranteed. At this point it's wait and watch to see what actually happens.

Absolutely! He will have earned it if he balls out and stays healthy... Niners could get lucky with a 2nd / 3rd rounder from desperate team

At least this makes it so it is in his best interest to play as best as he can this year. So we should hopefully get the best out of him this year.
He has another ace in the hole. Aiyuk. What if he's not the same player when he returns. That would make Jennings even more valuable.

It would help him this year, don't know about another year after. Aiyuk is going to get this year and next to recover is my guess, and I think Jennings will be gone by then.

If he balls out we will get a 3rd when he walks. Other teams are not part of that equation. I don't think we hold him with a tag to get a 2nd

If they tagged him he'd just sign and be delighted. The minimum contract for tags would be way more than he's worth.
