He's looking longer term and much more money. He also had an injured calf. He will play in game #1. Ready to go. He's not a free agent. We just did him a solid. To make him more happy. Maybe he will sign longer term with us because he's slightly more happy. Or somewhere else for a longer deal and more money. He did what he could in a non contract year. Honestly Jennings is kind of the winner. He was not a FA, just did a deal and still they gave him more with incentives. He will making bigger money after the year is out and he hits true free agency.

I'm not saying anything of that

I'm saying that after the reports saying that we was demanding +20M per season with the mighty Drew Rosenhaus as his agent and using his calf as an excuse to holdin he just came to practice for a raise of 3.5M.

It's clear that the team won this from a financial standpoint (duh!) but now he missed TC and pre-season only to settle for a minimal raise.

Deebo, Bosa and Aiyuk were almost non-factors on the field after their negotiations because all the practice they missed but at least they got the bag but now Jennings also is gonna be almost a non-factor at least for the first half of the season hurting the team......and he only got 3.5M and he still is gonna be a free agent and we know he isn't going to replicate his production of last year hurting his chances of getting a big contract next season.

The team won this negotiation from a financial standpoint but both the team and Jennings lost from an on-field production standpoint.

Lol. A player who outperformed his contract has a chance to earn extra money. I'm going to punch a wall.

lol my heavens 3 mil in incentives

seriously...weird thing to complain about.

good news for Jennings tho, the FA WR is class is bad next year. if he has a good season, he will get his money.

No, you guys are just pushovers, a weird thing to complain about is asking for a raise on a 2 year contract that was signed a year ago.

I don't pay the bills, so it's not me being the pushover.

It's not your money lol. Don't worry, the York's have plenty of money. They can afford 3 mil in bonus money.

If you want to focus on this from a POV fans perspective, then you focus on the salary cap. This doesn't impact our salary cap at for next year. So no reason to complain because an NFL player is getting extra money that is well deserved, based on what others are getting.
Just curious but where do you think the York's money comes from? They make their millions off the fanbase of the Niners or Leeds whether it's in ticket sales, merch, food, etc. So in reality, it actually is your money.

No, in actual reality it's not my money.

I didn't lose a single penny because they pay players...What are you talking about lol.

Only thing that most reasonable fans would care about is how this impacts our salary cap. JJ getting an extra 3.5 mil, doesn't impact our ability to bring in another good player, nor does it have any bearing on our money situation next year.

Why the hell do you care that JJ got a couple extra millions??? How is this a negative for our team?

I'm talking economics. The 49ers are a product that I imagine you invest your money in and likely a decent amount of it considering you are on a forum dedicated to the team. The 49ers are able to pay their players because we invest in their product. If we as a fanbase boycotted the Niners and didn't purchase their product, they wouldn't stay afloat very long and in all likelihood the Yorks would go bankrupt and be forced to sell the 49ers for pennies on the dollar.
JJ turned down a multiyear deal from the 49'ers to bet on himself. How great is that! He is going to play super bowl caliber football, win the super bowl in Santa Clara, and then will have earned his money on another team next year. Good for him and his attitude!

What is your definition of a contract year?

We don't KNOW but history tells us that the safe money is on monster's take. I personally think monster hit the nail right on the head.

When he is a free agent. After this season is over. His numbers will go up.

Its the strangest thing to me that a fan would care how a player goes about making money.

To your point we are always concerned with the cap.
this doesn't impact the cap.
Therefore it deserves little to no calories.

3 million in incentives isn't exactly giving in.

JJ never said he was demanding $20 million. That came from a BS report, that folks are treating as fact.

Tye only thing confirmed by the front office was that JJ asked for a trade.
